SCOTUS upheld #ICWA in a 7-2 decision in Haaland v. Brackeen. And Justice Barrett wrote for the majority. Well, knock me over with a proverbial feather, that's a second good surprise from 1 First Street this month.

A better-than-expected SCOTUS outcome: section 2 of the Voting Rights Act still exists. Yes, I'd like section 5 back (preclearance). But I'll take the draw and be happy that AL's black voters had their rights vindicated today.

Some initial thoughts on Allen v. Milligan. Media is trumpeting this as a "victory" for the Voting Rights Act. And it is. And I don't want to be a turd in the punchbowl... but this is pretty weak sauce from this Court.

If the ads remain in Finnish, I win - I will never be subtly influenced by an advertisement again! [But if this happens to Swedish Finns also, it must drive them batty]

Apple podcasts has swapped all the ads to Finnish because I'm in Helsinki. This is probably not what is meant by "location intelligence."
