@Drtrotter1966 @SwiftHitter You’re welcome. In broodmares it is done to prevent bacteria from entering the cervix while pregnant and also has this result with all caslicks. But again the fact it was said this vet practice doesn’t even carry lidocaine is baffling to me given what it’s used for..

@Drtrotter1966 @SwiftHitter As for carbocaine,I’ve never had any vet use that on my horses,however one time a previous vet I used sent me the wrong bill to proof and it was clear as day a horse’s foot was blocked with CC before each race,6 days out.Unbelievable.Also names on the bill of horses from the 90s!

@LLCazares @SwiftHitter Interest never knew that…. Are you saying that can be used instead of regumate to keep fillies and mare from cycling? …. Usually I’ve scene carbocaine used to block joints… same family of drugs and I always knew there was a draw time so you can’t race one.

@Drtrotter1966 @SwiftHitter This is correct and it’s also used to block the hooha area for a caslicks on a filly/mare. Carried by many vets for these very reasons. All normal and within regulations. The only issue with any regulated medication is how long it takes for it to metabolize.

@SwiftHitter I’ll explain what I know about this drug to try helping you draw your own conclusions… lidocaine is used to block joints to find a spot where a horse is sore so you can’t treat the area. Everyone knows the draw time on this to clear and be able to race on.
