@rcondiscord The boomers were young adults in the 80-90s. They absolutely were getting fast food

Re: Gen Z and food. 1.) Stop calling everybody old enough to grow facial hair a Boomer. It is making you confused. 2.) Actual Boomers are in their 70's and 80's, and did not grow up eating fast food every day. 3.) Gen X grew up when peak T.V. dinner was replaced by the invention of the Dollar Menu, and while we did eat tons of fast food by the time we got to the work force, most of us saw the Arby's Five for Five as some sort of miracle, and never forgot about ramen and hot dogs. The Dollar Menu was killed by covid and minimum wage, and it does suck. You do have it worse than Gen X did living in the 1$ McDouble era. Nevertheless, the solutions proposed by Actual Boomers are the valid solutions to your situation.

@GenerationNew4 @SandyofSuffolk Low housing with $3.50/hour (this was minimum wage in the late 80’s) doesn’t mean they were living the high life you think they did.

@SandyofSuffolk Boomers had all the modern technologies of the time. They had an abundance of benefits, council houses, free school meals and free university. In the 8ps they were the generation which benefited most from low house prices and increased wages. Only 1 adult had to work..

Just so you know. Boomers didn't have fast food. Except fish and chips. Boomers didn't have ready meals. Except Vesta beef curry. Look it up. Boomers didn't have colour TVs, front loading washing machines, central heating or holidays abroad. Boomers didn't have babymoons or baby showers nor did they go on stag or hen weekends. Boomers didn't go to restaurants. Except on birthdays. Boomers didn't have new clothes every year, every season. They made do and mended. But Boomers had a fabulous time in the 1960s to 1980s because people were friendly, respectful, dignified and hardworking. Boomers also had law and order and a judiciary who punished ALL criminals. Boomers were happy with their lot. Yes. I'm a Boomer. Just so you know.

If we could replace the 535 clowns in DC who call themselves our "representatives" with 535 honest people with experience balancing a family budget - most of our problems could be solved in a few weeks. Agree or disagree?

The health consciousness stuff has gone massively overboard. People walking around with bands tracking their vital signs every second of the day like they’re astronauts on the ISS. Treating alcohol or sugar like it’ll kill them if they look at it. Tracking their sleep. Counting their steps. It’s possible to live a healthy life without being an obsessive, paranoid lunatic. You’re gonna die either way. In a few decades you’ll be just as dead as the rest of us, if not sooner. Relax a little and live your life while you still can.

@TheRealGAPeach3 @mattvanswol @Drea4371 PSo you don’t care about the Iranian people that have dealt with the terrorizing regime since the 70’s and those who are begging for our President’s help. That’s selfish. I can afford to skip lattes and DoorDash if it means these people are helped.

Honestly, I don’t give a damn. I’m sick of his mean tweets with no backup. I’m sick of him literally saying he doesn’t give a crap about the financial situation of Americans when it comes to a quagmire that he has created in the Iran war Three weeks from not paying rent. I don’t give a fuck about the Iranians. I don’t give a fuck about the Indian Indians. I don’t give a fuck about anybody else on the planet, regardless of their pathetic situation that their own people created. I give a fuck about me. I give a fuck about people like me. And nobody else gives a fuck about people like me. I voted three times for what? @timburchett 2028.

@WallStreetApes Aside from the part where he decides this is the fault of Gen X, he's correct. Most of my generation has no use for this shit either, we're far too pragmatic for that. I actually blame the Millennials🤷

Jake Lang confronted Texas Lawmakers over the Muslim and Indian invasion Every single word is pure truth “No one has ever looked across the plains of Texas in the football games and all the amazing cowboy culture and the raw American spirit here and said, let's replace this with Muslims, let's replace this with Hindus. Texas should remain for Texans. Have you lost your mind selling your children's future? It is a replacement. It is not right. Just because it's happening to white people does not make it okay. You guys are complicit. This is the jellyfish generation, half boomer, half Gen X. You don't care about my children's children. You are selling out this country to people who do not want to live near you. They want to build their own separate segregated zones where they practice their religion, their food, their way of dress, their language. They don't care about white culture. They don't care about American culture. They don't like you. They will replace you. What the f*ck is wrong with you inviting these people into our country? This is a Christian country. Name one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence that's a Hindu or Muslim” He’s absolutely right. We have been sold out at every level from the Texas GOP This will have us all living under sharia law with an open border in Texas Indians have seen a 130% population increase in Texas since 2010 Muslims are up over 180% with a skyrocketing population due to birth rates in the 450,000+ range

A six-year-old girl was suspended from school for two weeks after she repeatedly said no to touching a snake during a wildlife presentation. When she got overwhelmed and ran into the hallway crying, the school treated it as an automatic suspension — then the school said she could only return if they provided proof she was getting therapy for her “irrational fear” of snakes. I have very strong feelings about situations like this. Kids need to know that their “no” actually means something, especially when it comes to their bodies and things that genuinely scare them. Pressuring a first-grader and then punishing her for having a normal reaction crosses a serious line. Children’s boundaries deserve respect — even (and especially) at school. What would you do if this happened to your child or grandchild? Would you push back, or is there another approach you’d take?

My sister did that. Sold her house so her son could buy a big house for his new fiancée and his child but they did allow my sister to move in. Couple years later son breaks off wedding plans, moves in new gf who made him kick out my sister and has yet to refinance and give back the portion my sister paid. Point being, her son didn’t honor his mother but used her. This generation can make their own way just like we did. Boomer generation and Gen X weren’t born with a silver spoon and had to struggle just the same. We were taught to become independent and not rely on someone to save us from any financial problems.

If you're a boomer in your 60s and 70s and you own property and are well off but your children are struggling and can't even buy a home, what the hell are you doin? Your time is over. It's their time. Help them. Be a good parent, do whatever it is you need to do... sell the house if you need to, give them some kickbacks to help buy their first home, etc. Life is short. Be a good parent and don't squat on stuff that doesn't matter. Give them their time.
