To be clear (or not, as is the case) while @GOVUK says the lockdown measures include Wednesday 2, it also states elsewhere the new tier rules come into place on Wednesday 2 #joinedupmessaging

Surprised that my former colleagues @BBCWalesNews Wales Today seem to have missed the growing anger in north Wales at the prospect of national restrictions. Speak to @cllrsamrowlands.

For info stats produced by @LloydCymru which appears you may not have them to hand. Numbers today from two of the Counties in the North, that bring in between them, over £2Bn to the Economy. How on earth can you justify further restrictions, with infection numbers being this low

Earlier today I wrote to the First Minister to express my disappointment at the announcement of an all Wales set of further restrictions to the hospitality sector. The letter is self explanatory...

Areas such as Conwy, Anglesey & Gwynedd have rates which are lower than Tier 1 areas in England such as Cornwall. Yet, the Welsh Labour Government is planning to lump them in with high incidence areas in Wales such as Blaenau Gwent. It makes no sense & will be hugely damaging.

The spirit of the hospitality sector is indomitable - was in first lockdown and is again now - showing how important they are to local communities. The quicker we can help these businesses out of restrictions the better - let’s start with the curfew on 11 Nov

I'm raising donations for kids packed lunches for the upcoming half term week to support the work we've been doing since March addressing food issues in underprivileged and under funded areas around the city region.. All help very greatfully received!!!

@wgmin_finance It will be a surprise@if@it@is more than the package in England as it hasnt been yet. Businesses with rateable values over £51k have received nothing and being blackmailed in to adopting Welsh Government working practises just to get funds to survive is inexcusable

We are still working through the details of today’s announcement, but we anticipate that the support we will be providing to businesses who have to close as a result of the two week firebreak will still be more generous than that provided in England.

Whilst today’s announcement is a step in the right direction, I am calling on the UK Government to ensure that under this new scheme employers will not be any worse off than they were under the Job Retention Scheme. ow.ly/yyar50C03hy

@UKHofficial The big problem for the landlords is that currently there are no other tenants looking to take on the leases. Ten a LTD can of course apply for the Hayek as support loans and grants available through their banks to help pay rents if needed

The industry has suffered unprecedented drops in visits and many business are already on their knees. This latest advice leaves the industry in limbo. We need immediate & far-reaching support from Government, and meaningful business continuity measures. ukhospitality.org.uk/news/493835/Go…
