I was very glad to talk yesterday to @sitsio and @ChooseAgape__ about Fr James Mawdsley, the TLM, the Jews, Holocaust denial and fascism -- quite a stimulating set of issues! Thank you both for publishing the hour-long podcast video: link in reply.

@John_Barach @LMSChairman Seconded: I agree that a lot of modern children's books are ugly but I don't know why you would include Shirley Hughes in that. It's the garish, infantile computer generated stuff that I particularly dislike.

‘Unequal trade policies’ means what @Dev207i ? Undercutting the price of artisanal cloth with cheaply manufactured alternatives, thus benefitting the Indian consumer. Sure, this caused a decline in artisanal industry, but it didn’t eliminate it. Meanwhile British-educated Indian entrepreneurs like Tata built an Indian textile manufacturing industry.
Dev@Dev207i

@NigelBiggar @ivor_bacon Britain de-industrialized much of India's traditional textile and handicraft sectors via unequal trade policies and machine-made imports, shifting labor back to agriculture—though limited modern mills and infrastructure later developed.

@LMSChairman I'll try repeating his rational argument. The SSPX is a society of priests. These priests are prevented from saying mass in Chartres Cathedral. So they are prevented from taking part in the pilgrimage to Chartres.

@LMSChairman It is disnigenuous, as Jackson says, to respond to Blumenthal's original assertion that the SSPX cannot take part in the pilgrimage by replying that the laity associated with the SSPX could join another non-SSPX pilgrimage, and the priests of the SSPX could leave the Society.

Shaw is being pompous and disingenuous here. He says nobody is “forcing” the SSPX to travel to Paris instead of Chartes for pilgrimage. Except that I take it SSPX clergy are not allowed to say masses at Chartres? So instead of SSPX laity walking with their own priests, Shaw says they can just abandon them and walk with stranger priests in the other direction and assist at their Masses instead? OR the Society could just cave, accept the Bergoglian Revolution, and sign on the dotted line with Tucho and go to Chartres. Therefore, Shaw concludes nobody is FORCING them to walk to Paris in the opposite direction so they can say Mass in their own church. What utter arrogance and complete and total lack of compassion for fellow Traditional Catholics. On top of the disingenuous nature of saying they are not forced to go to Paris.

@Mwarning515 You'll have to make do with my say-so I'm afraid. But you can look me up: I was baptised in Our Lady of Victories, High Street Kensington, in 1971.

@Mwarning515 Brush up on the Council of Trent—specifically, Session VI, Decree on Justification. Also, why is a supposed Catholic interpreting Apocalypse that way? Finally, there hasn’t been a convert on either side of my family for generations.

This anonymous account doesn't like converts. Sorry to spoil the narrative, my friend, but I'm a cradle Catholic. (Then again, converts are great.)

@BigModernism Shaw is a convert. Today's Converts are somewhat evil. Have you never been hurt by a convert? Converts are the Locusts mentioned in Apoc 9.And from the smoke of the pit there came out locusts upon the earth. And power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

@LMSChairman Fr Robert Parsons was not a Convert. You are. Big difference. So tried of converts like yourself who always try to hinder or hurt practicing Catholics. Sit down shut up and mind your own business. There should be a Church law prohibiting Converts from destroying the peace

It is far and away the greatest popular vehicle of this idea and even when absorbed from a non masonic source, the chances are that it came to that source at two or three removes but still via freemasonry. Consider the important people who have espoused it - the US founding fathers, leaders of the risorgimento, the marxists and so on. Every mason over the last three centuries has had family and friends and these ideas are easily sown among them, and then repeated by them into the non Masonic world at large.

Freemasonry describes itself as "a peculiar system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols". It is not, therefore, and actual religion but a method of approaching religion which convinces people that all religions are equally valid. This is where the promotion of "one world religion" comes from.

You need to go back a few decades. Hit ABE books and plug in ‘Ardizzone’ as a search term. Beautiful stuff. And he was extraordinarily prolific. Tim and Ginger are particular favourites — often reprinted. Then there are the wonderful Ahlbergs. Children’s sections in bookshops are awful today. But second-hand books are a treasure-trove.
