I would love to do a study of NASCAR fans by age group that actually care about this. The core base is right around 50+ and most boomers can’t tell the difference. So by the numbers, it makes sense to use it. But outside of creatives, I’m curious to see if anyone else cares.

FOX updated their AI slop burnout commercial with Joey Logano's #22 - Gen 4/5/6/7 all in one car - Not the current Mustang body - Spoiler from 2001 - Autotrader 22 on the quarter is something - Illuminated tail lights, again - Rear wheels different than front, chrome lips too?

@GarageGuyChase in a world of partners always striving to get their logos and brand guidelines correct, having a major broadcast partner cheap out and use an AI generated car instead of paying a proper artist to render this is lazy, innaccurate, and a bad representation of the sport

@Alyx2448 No don’t get it twisted the racing at bristol dirt wasn’t great. BUT The spectacle of it is a lot more interesting than a run of the mill second race on the concrete

@BIGEVILdesigns They did it like… twice Everyone hated that they had no logos on the car and they shifted to just making them inspired by the colour schemes instead

@DaleJr @KellyCrandall I’ve had a very similar experience with the Next Gen car. Do NOT recommend!

@Boogity4113 Meanwhile the door number in the middle of the gen 6 feels balanced on that car. That could just be me getting used to the new placement though

@Boogity4113 See i see where you’re coming from. But I personally feel that because the Gen 7 has a longer hood and shorter rear quarter panel compared to the gen 6, the forward number feels like it is balanced. Centered numbers on the Gen 7 feel like they’re too far back if ykwim

@LBreitschopf56 See the Aldi one was actually a port of a Gen 6 scheme i made so it wasn’t originally made for this car which might be part of it.

@LNolanCreative The Raptor and Coke use it perfectly, the 7 Eleven takes the design to the space and makes it look nice regardless. Only one I can argue is the Aldi, I would have just backed the red/yelow stripes up a bit, but even then it’s nowhere near bad enough to warrant anything.

@artnoahsweet Oddly enough RAM does this very well with their Trucks. Which do not suit forward numbers

@artnoahsweet Yeah with this car and how stingy brands can be about logo visibility these days. The space can’t always be filled with logos but it should definitely be filled with something if possible. Otherwise the scheme ends up feeling way more empty than it actually is.
