📢DRC721 protocol details introduction ooo-9.gitbook.io/drc721/ We are very happy to introduce the details of the DRC721 protocol, which mainly solves the problems in the application of dog chains. The current indexing system has some challenges in dogchain applications, including dust, storage pressure, and difficulty in cross-validation. These problems have been effectively solved by introducing the DRC721 protocol. 1/3📌Problems with the current indexing system in the dog chain application ① Dust At present, a large amount of dust is produced and cannot be solved according to the current indexing mechanism, because the value is dust. When the goal of your design is to create a lot of dust, there is no way to change the fact that the original chain is broken. Due to the cheap nature of Dogecoin, it is normal for some addresses that use the full node chain to have hundreds of thousands of dust utxo (real data). Assuming that swap and other high-frequency interaction protocols are proposed based on this index system later, Dogechain will basically be forced to fork or disappear at the block height of March 2023 as the value of a certain tick increases. Due to the particularity of Dogchain (even fork btc) and the lack of basic protocols such as taproot, there will be many different problems. Ignoring these problems is not conducive to the sustainable development of the ecology. ② Storage pressure BTC produces blocks every 10 minutes, and the total amount is fixed, which means that the space for storing inscriptions is predictable, and theoretically the BTC serial number of the smallest unit also has a certain original value. Dogecoin produces blocks every minute, and the total amount is unlimited, which means that the current index system based on Dogecoin is facing increasing pressure on storage space every day. ③Difficulty of cross-validation The current indexing method is based on a two-layer centralized index. Taking drc20 as an example, the balance of a user's tick depends on a certain two-layer centralized application service. First, the user's inscription must be retrieved by the inscription system, and secondly, the user's balance based on drc20 must be retrieved by the balance index system. If users question its correctness, they need to ask for proofs from two centralized service providers at the same time, which itself is unverifiable and extremely easy to argue. Even if both parties publish the code, the difficulty of verification is greatly increased. In essence, applications such as drc20 are linear ledger statistics. After the user mints, the generated data itself does not have any meaning after being counted, and the data itself exists in the transaction data in the block. It is actually a bit redundant to parasitize the inscription system. It only needs to satisfy a certain statistical rule and follow the linear block transaction data statistics to complete this type of application. Other problems： 1，Transfer error-proneness and complexity 2，Due to the loopholes caused by the double-layer index, the index incurs double-spending attacks, etc. (non-blockchain issues). 3，The index often has a bug that the inscription is ignored 2/3📌Details proposed by Drc721 and improvements to doginal indexing (doginal+) Based on the data on the linear chain instead of the second-layer UTXO index (the design goal is to value the data on the chain instead of dust) ①The protocol data is written linearly based on P2SH and stored in the block data, which cannot be changed or ignored. ②The data storage of drc721 relies on the linear storage capacity of blockchain data. As long as the user has a transaction and uses P2SH to write the protocol data, the indexer can linearly search according to the protocol. ③drc721 no longer needs to rely on the data provided by multi-layer centralized inscription index providers; anyone can simply deploy a single-layer index on the chain to retrieve protocol data in a linear manner, the ability to be cross-validated is greatly enhanced, and the risk of centralization is reduced. ④The ownership of the data is owned by the address currently writing the data. Dust problem solved,because what is valuable is no longer the parasitic (0.0001) UTXO, but the data written by P2SH. It is acceptable to generate as many UTXOs as possible, and the indexing system can actively filter maliciously written dust： ①There will be no wasted UTXO: The wallet no longer needs to design a separate module for dust UTXO to manage, and even a small amount of unconfirmed UTXO can be used to write data. ②This index method is applied to DRC721 to build a better ecological foundation. drc20 can choose to upgrade the index system or not. sustainable and verifiable ③Sustainable and Verifiable: Anyone who deploys a single-layer index and searches linearly according to the block data on the chain can judge the correctness of the ledger data and improve the ability to be verified. ④Scalability: This indexing method, data storage, etc. will no longer be a problem, because only the ledger data needs to be stored, and the data itself is stored by the blockchain.
