I wish everyone who I interacted with here when I was more active well, and hope for safety and good things for everybody. genuinely. I hope that this message finds you keeping going 🧡🩶

I think I’m okay with that but I don’t want to delete this place. maybe someday I’ll go back through it and try to archive some of my writing from that time in my life. in some ways I feel like I outgrew it but in others I feel like I’m that girl trying to pretend she grew up

every so often this account gives me a ghost notif and I think about it again. I have tried sometimes to think about reimagining it or refurbishing it but i think the specific magic staticgirl had is something that is in my past

@ravenlore 🧡 i can’t make any promises about being consistently back, to be honest—I miss it too but I still struggle to think about what writing I’d even pull out of myself for this, as Ive said before I think the old Staticgirl voice has moved on. but maybe a new one exists? we’ll see.

@enistoja it was really good! definitely in the oeuvre of things that inspire me. makes me wonder a bit about the complex way people were thinking about technology around the millennium and the ways that we view it now and the different ways we think of it as threatening

if you’re curious where I was—since about august 2020 I fell into Blaseball, made a side account for that, and that became my main creative community for a solid 2.5 years! then that ended, and I went back to my personal acc and got way too into gundam. which is where I still am

it’s so odd digging through my following list. a lot of people have left (understandably so!) for other sites. I feel a bit like I am coming up out of a bunker into an abandoned city. I suppose i could move to bsky here or elsewhere, but again, i doubt much would follow

I might think about changing things up here and reinventing Staticgirl as a more modern persona. I might also totally lose interest and forget about her. We’ll have to see. stay tuned, i suppose?
