Callout at 10.27pm on Wednesday 7 January to be ready to assist with an incident in the Lowestoft Harbour area. Crew stood by at the mooring until the incident was resolved. This was the first call of 2026 (Library image)

Called at 7.41pm (19 Dec) to be at immediate readiness to assist with an incident in the North Beach area. Were quickly stood down before launching when incident resolved. Second callout at 1.10pm today. Launched to incident in South Beach area. No one found in trouble.

Called out at 00.34 today to a small yacht with solo sailor on board struggling with the weather and needing help getting into the harbour. Met the yacht off Pakefield to assess the situation and decided a tow was the safest way to help the skipper. Brought into port at 02.10hrs

Callout at 4.20pm 28 November 2025 to a 10m workboat with engine failure being towed - but unable to negotiate the harbour and relatively narrow marina entrances. Tow taken over off Southwold by lifeboat and the powerless vessel successfully moored in the yacht marina.

Callout at 00.09am to EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) activation 15 miles from coast. HM Coastguard were unable to contact the vessel. Relief lifeboat Eric's Legend was half way to the boat when radio contact was made & EPIRB found to be accidentally activated

Callout at 1.54pm to a multi-agency incident in the harbour area. Launched and stood by until incident was resolved. Returned to mooring at 2.45pm

Callout at 1.41pm following a mayday call to HM Coastguard from a vessel in the Galloper Wind Farm, 30 km off Southwold. However our volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew were stood down whilst en route - as their services were no longer needed. The crew are ready to respond 24/7

Callout at 11.11 am on Tuesday 11th November to a guard vessel aground on Newcome sandbank just off the pier heads. A tow line was thrown to the 22-metre converted fishing boat, which had a four-metre draught and after 15 minutes of pulling - the craft was eventually refloated.

The volunteer crew from Lowestoft RNLI were privileged to take part in the Remembrance Service at Royal Plain in Lowestoft today - during which a wreath was laid to remember the fallen🌹

Callout at 10.32am yesterday to a motor cruiser struggling to make headway along the coast and with concerns that the vessel may capsize. Lifeboat and windfarm vessel Njord Forseti responded. Both provided some shelter from the waves whilst escorting the cruiser into harbour

Callout at 1.11pm to take over the tow of a stranded fishing boat from Cromer Lifeboat. The 10m vessel was fishing for herring off Sheringham when it lost steering. After a very slow tow the boat was brought into Lowestoft Harbour at 8pm

Callout at 9.59am to person in the water at Lake Lothing. But whilst crew were assembling, a Rib arrived at the lifeboat mooring with the person they had pulled from the water on board. The person was transferred by the crew into the station and to the care of an ambulance team

Callout at 10.17pm after shouting heard by two different people in the vicinity of the rocks at North Beach, Lowestoft. In clear conditions the crew searched along with police, coastguard teams and a coastguard helicopter - search called off when nothing found after three hours

Callout, along with helicopter, at 9.18pm yesterday to medivac a casualty from a guard vessel off Orford. The weather and sea conditions were initially too bad to take him off. However, a later attempt by the helicopter was successful - and he was airlifted to Ipswich Hospital.

Callout at half past midnight to assess 18 metre Guard Vessel with six crew that had lost propulsion near South Holm Buoy. Coxswain decided undertaking a tow was necessary and the 130 tonne vessel was brought slowly into port arriving in the Waveney Dock at 3.30am

Callout at 1.35pm yesterday to a Paddle boarder in the water off Corton struggling to get back onto their board - but crew were stood down before launching when the person made it safely to the beach on their own.

Crew called at 9.18pm to assemble in readiness to assist Police, Coastguard and Ambulance service with an incident in the harbour area. However after waiting, they were stood down before launching when the incident was resolved

Lowestoft RNLI lifeboat crew joined in an emergency response training exercise organised by ABP. It was a collaboration with the Environmental Agency and local fire and ambulance service. Staged in the harbour, it involved an oil spill and boat collision with injured crew.

Callout at 3.39am for crew to assemble in readiness to assist Police and Coastguard Rescue Team with an incident in the Lake Lothing area. However the lifeboat crew was stood down before launching when the incident was resolved.

Crew called at 10.26 pm to assemble and be at 'immediate readiness' to assist HM Coastguard and Police with an incident involving an intoxicated female in the South Beach area but were quickly stood down before launching when the situation was resolved.
