Congrats to @Hussein__Aly, 2021 #lexpertrisingstars leading lawyers under 40! He is one of the most accomplished trial lawyers I know. He is humble, smart & generous with his time but more importantly, he can destroy a lying witness (i.e cops) with his fatal cross-examinations.

All three individuals should not have been charged to begin with. The recent case demonstrates the real and alarming possibility of being falsely accused of murder as a result of this dangerous combination: lying informant, unfettered (and CORRUPT) police powers & tunnel vision.

We are horrified at the news of the shooting in Atlanta. Incidents of anti-Asian hate and violence are spiking, not just in the US but also Canada. We must condemn all acts of anti-Asian hate and prejudice.

I have to commend the Crown on this case. They did their job with integrity and reviewed the evidence with objectivity. In other words, did their job! If only, others would follow suit.

Getting a client’s charges withdrawn outright takes skilled lawyering. That task is immeasurably harder when the charge is murder. Fantastic work from partners @LPHlaw and Anthony Robbins—their client’s second-degree murder charge was withdrawn today.

Last night, a jury acquitted my client of firearm charges 🙏. They didn't know he was in jail for 16 mnth waiting for trial in horrible conditions (triple-bunk, no showers,etc). When I dropped him home & saw him hug his 6 yo, broke my 💔 thinking abt the time he can't buy back.
