Britain has paid Norway over £100 billion for gas since 2021. For gas they’re drilling in the North Sea, the same sea Ed Miliband has banned new drilling in on the British side. Madness.

When using military forces to bring about democratic regime change, we are 4 for 17 (5 if you count Grenada). But all the successes have been hard. In 3 of the successes -- Germany, Italy, Japan -- we fought massive wars with boots on the ground for years, and then for years after, ruling directly in Japan. I’m guessing Trump is not ready to do that. BTW, we did not go to war with these countries to achieve democratic regime change. That goal came later. Panama was also a success, but it also required boots on the ground. And Panama was a much weaker & smaller foe than Iran. I can't think of a single historical case in which air power alone led to the destruction of a dictatorship and then the emergence of a democracy. Correct me if I'm wrong.
