As of now, no cladding companies have been criminally prosecuted in relation to the Grenfell Tower fire, despite ongoing investigations. It’s been 9 years since the disaster.
Misan Harriman@misanharriman
Every month, I will remind you about Grenfell! Please never forget! It will be 9 years this year, and still no justice. The Grenfell Fire is the UK’s deadliest residential fire since World War II.

*BREAKING*. As the world’s gaze turns to Greenland, Israel “bulldozes” UNWRA in occupied E.Jerusalem.
UNRWA reports that Israeli forces "stormed into" its premises in occupied East Jerusalem this morning.
Statement goes on to say bulldozers then entered and began demolishing buildings inside the compound, which is "a United Nations site."
UNWRA describes it as an "Unprecedented attack" against the agency, and "constitutes a serious violation of international law, and the privileges and immunities of the United Nations."
A spokesperson said, “This should be a wake-up call. What happens today to UNRWA can happen tomorrow to any other international organisation or diplomatic mission around the world."*

Anti-ICE protests sweep cities across the US
People from dozens of cities in the US have been taking to the streets to protest Trump's mass deportation campaign and the actions of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE). The people of the US are calling for a complete abolition of the agency after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Good in Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 7.
Groups have pledged to continue with protests against ICE, mass deportations, and for immigrant rights for as long as it’s necessary.

Three Palestine Action prisoners, Heba Muraisi, Kamran Ahmed, and Lewie Chiaramello, are risking their lives on hunger strike in protest of prolonged imprisonment without trial. Heba reached 71 days without food on 12th January, Kamran 64 days, and Lewie 49 days. On the same day, a fourth prisoner, Umer Khalid, announced he had restarted his hunger strike.
Heba Muraisi is now struggling to breathe and suffering uncontrollable muscle spasms, which are possible signs of severe neurological damage.
They are among the Filton 24, charged with disrupting the manufacture of weapons at an Israeli-owned Elbit factory near Bristol. The hunger strikers are demanding immediate bail. Under UK law, the maximum time a prisoner should spend on remand is six months. Yet Muraisi and Ahmed, arrested in November 2024, may remain in prison until June 2026, which is 20 months without trial, and Chiaramello, arrested in July 2025, faces a provisional court date in January 2027, which is 18 months remanded.
Their protest evokes memories of Bobby Sands, who died on 5 May 1981 on the 66th day of his hunger strike in Maze Prison while fighting for political prisoner status.

In its bid to continue the genocide in Gaza, Israel has banned 37 aid organizations from entering the decimated, militarily occupied coastal enclave.
Israel's intel-tied Ministry of Diaspora Affairs has demanded that all staffers of aid orgs prove they do not support calls to boycott Israel, that they do not support armed struggle or oppose Israel's existence as an exclusivist Jewish state; that they do not "actively advance delegitimization activities against the State of Israel."
They must also demonstrate that they have never questioned the established history of the Holocaust or challenged official Israeli narratives about October 7 – including, presumably, that Palestinians committed "mass rape."
Israel has also demanded that Doctors Without Borders provide COGAT occupation administrators with the personal data of its staff and donors, an unprecedented move by a belligerent in a conflict which few, if any, aid groups would honor.
It seems obvious that the Israeli government is using the absurdly onerous new registration standards as cover to ban virtually every credible international aid organization from entering Gaza. In doing so, the apartheid entity seemingly seeks to deprive Palestinians living inside the yellow occupation line of sustenance, forcing them to leave Gaza, or to move into one of the high-tech concentration camp-like "smart cities" mapped out in the dystopian new "Project Sunshine" proposal marketed by Trump cronies Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Here's a list of all the aid orgs banned by Israel from operating in Gaza:

A Thread 🧵
The US launched airstrikes in northwest Nigeria, claiming to target ISIS militants in a mission to protect Christians. But as the smoke clears, analysts and Pan-Africanists alike are questioning the true motives behind this intervention.
Critics suggest these strikes are less about Nigerian security and more about US domestic politics. By framing the bombing as a "crusade" for the evangelical Christian right, the Trump administration is using Africa as a stage to pander to one of its key voter bases.
Nor has the significance of oil been missed. Following attacks on Iran and Venezuela, Nigeria is now the third oil-rich nation the US has struck this year. History shows that whenever the US "exports democracy" or "protection" to resource-rich lands, the result is rarely stability. From Iraq to Libya, the pattern is clear: military intervention is the precursor to economic extraction.
While some Nigerians have cheered the strikes, Pan-Africanists are more sceptical. This mirrors the early days of the NATO intervention in Libya, which some locals initially viewed as promising until it spiralled into a decade of state collapse and militia rule.
The "protecting Christians" narrative falls apart when held up against US foreign policy elsewhere. While the US claims to be the guardian of the faith in Nigeria, it continues to provide unconditional support to Israel, which has systematically targeted and displaced some of the world's oldest P*lestinian Christian communities.
Ultimately, a Western power conducting unilateral strikes on African soil is a direct assault on Global South sovereignty. Real security cannot be granted by a foreign imperial power. When they enter your house to "clean" it, they rarely leave the keys behind.
