Just in case it’s been hard to keep track, in the past few weeks the Noboa dictatorship has: • Bombed Colombia • Bombed the Amazon • Deployed 75,000 troops to round up children in a drug purge while he continues trafficking cocaine through his shipping enterprise •Prohibited journalists from recording military operations •Expanded the work day to 12 hours •Kidnapped the mayor of the largest city in Ecuador for publicly criticizing him •Banned his biggest political opposition party from participating in elections •Disregarded a democratic vote and pushed through mining reforms that 65% of the country voted against •Was accused by the head of the Los Lobos Cartel for ordering the assassination of his opponent in the presidential election •Had unmarked cars chase and intimidate journalists The list goes on but my thumbs hurt

Correct. From a Christian perspective, if Jesus is not Jewish then Jesus is not the Messiah. Period. The Messiah MUST be Jewish and from the House of David. Without it Jesus doesn’t fulfill Old Testament prophecies, which makes Him not the Messiah. Any “Christian” trying to strip Jesus’s Jewish heritage away from Him is perpetuating an antisemitic (and literal anti-Christ) lie.
Heimish Conservative@HeimishCon

Look I'm an Orthodox Jew. The New Testament isn't my forte. But isn't a central argument of Christianity that Jesus is descended from David?

Mexico (and the rest of the countries further south) don’t have a reservation system. Colonization over there tried to assimilate natives (full or mixed) by getting them to integrate into Hispanic society and forget their own cultures. That’s why there’s Mexican mestizos who are-

There’s mixed natives all over Native American reservations, but they also grow up with their ppl in their cultures. Why can they choose to identify as native easily and mestizos can’t ?

@_CatholicWest How much did the Spanish form of Catholicism get transferred to Mexico. I remember hearing the Spanish form was considered perhaps the most conservative - which became a factor related to Spanish Civil War.

In sum, I continue to oppose the war. If we win, via overthrow of the Iranian government, the cost will go up further. I would like to see us end the campaign immediately. /10-end

I can sympathize with the fact that Iran truly has been a terror to the Middle East, and at time to the entire world. However I fail to see how this conflict is not objectively bad for our country. We are not in a position to fight this war which is costing us roughly 1 billion dollars per day. Oil prices are surging, and are estimated to go sky high because we have been unable to secure safe passage through the strait of Hormuz. The Chinese are actively providing accurate satellite surveillance and targeting to the Iranians, and the Iranians have already tested a few of Chinas new hypersonic missiles on Tel Aviv. So China gets to collect intel and data on how effective their weapon systems are on the U.S. and our partners, and collect data on how we move and respond to modern advanced weaponry. Our 5th fleet base in Bahrain, a base that was almost deployed to and that many of my friends have been deployed to in the past is being decimated, which is something that the pentagon is not allowing news media to cover fully. Thankfully our men were pulled back, but that base is very strategic, important and expensive, and will likely be rendered useless after this conflict. We have been unable to prevent the Gulf states from being harmed by this conflict which will create distrust of the U.S. and our alliances with these countries. Several refineries have been devastated in the gulf states, and some estimates are saying it could be months or years before they are fully restored from the damage and able to produce again. Because of this some Saudi investors are growing very weary and are already speaking very loudly about pulling massive investments and assets out of the U.S. economy. CENTCOM is running low on critical munitions like the Tomahawk missile, and other important weapons because of years supporting Israel and Ukraine, this is extremely disturbing considering our defense industrial complex is horribly defective in its current state and totally unable to mass produce weaponry to the speed and scale our adversaries(especially China) can. The Ayatollah was the religious head of Shia Islam which will no doubt stir the hornets nest of radical Shia groups world wide. Remember we have millions of these people in our country, and even I times of peace they have committed horrible acts of terrorism in our land and abroad, which is what these people want. Shia Muslims have prophecies telling them that it’s their duty to bring about chaos to usher in their messiah. This is what they want. The list goes on as to why this was just objectively not a good idea. It should also be noted that this is exactly what Trump promised he would not do when he campaigned. So it’s killing the voter base and possibly destroying the conservative movement right before mid terms. We all wanted America first, we all wanted to re build, re arm, to become wealthy and powerful again. We all wanted to cut government corruption and restore our nations ability to manufacture goods and weaponry. This will undoubtedly set us back greatly.

@Cuauhtemoc_1521 Santa Anna is alguien muy interesante.

We're at a point where there are no cheap options to retreat to and no price points that guarantee quality. Every run-down studio is $1400, every fast food meal is $17, every luxury condo has peel-n-stick tiles, every $300 pair of boots falls apart. Endless expensive mediocrity.

Sadly, this is true. I don’t know how theological training is for Catholic priests, but if a Protestant pastor wants to be educated in historic, Protestant theology, he basically has to train himself. We didn’t read Chemnitz or Gerhard in seminary, a little Walther, and barely any Pieper (influential 20th century LCMS theologian). If our own pastors aren’t familiar with the founts of our tradition, you can hardly blame those outside of our tradition from confusing it with evanjellyfish churches, which are way more visible.
Kevin Fernandez@sincead33

In other words, how the mighty have fallen. You know I’ll defend Prots from being strawmanned but I don’t per se fault most Catholics from arguing against “Protestants” who are really low church evangelicals since the whole “classical Protestant” group is invisible to them in the world around them.
