@literarylucille A terrible underwrite with novels, an overwriter with short stories. I can never get the damn wordcount right 😬

Here's a quick writing update...
Some good news, I've been working on a sparkling new edition of my dark short story collection - For Strangers Only. Watch this space for further announcements.
Here's a tease of a corner of the brilliant new cover...

@CL_Meadows A great alt history/thriller book 👍Read it a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed.

@R_E_Baldry @AlysEliza Congratulations on your win, Rue! 💕 I’d try it, but it looks like it’s for debuts only.

The Literary Studio’s First Novel Prize is open for unpublished novels until the end of May. The first prize is £1000. Two years ago I won this prize and this year Dwell, the novel I won it with, will be published. It’s well worth having a go. Enter here: firstnovel.co.uk

@ChaceRandolph I’m a bit more lucky. At least, one of my books is still available. Both books are standalone novels (currently), so it’s a bit easier to deal with rather than with series.

Had a productive day today, revising my query for THE SEEDS OF SKY. I'll be back to querying soon

@ChaceRandolph I don't have the skills to do it or enough money to pay for a professional editor, designer, etc, let alone marketing. But I know how it feels to lose a publishing contract 😟 I guess it's even harder when you books have already been published.
English

@ChaceRandolph Oh, that's hard! The publisher I worked with on my debut decided to scale down their business this year. So although the first book is still available, I need to find a home for the 2nd one (which was contracted for the release in May). I know I can't publish it myself :(
English

@HeddenWrites That’s pretty much a summary of my recent experience with querying 😬 So I decided the query needs a revision. A bet reader gave me some good insight.
English

@Madmarlowe That’s hard! But at least, it’s an answer (hopefully with some feedback) and you can move forward. I haven’t heard from agents for the last 2+ weeks. I start to get anxious there’s no a single rejection in my inbox 😵💫😬
English

@ChaceRandolph It’s really cool that you can do it by yourself, but many people (including myself) can’t. Hence, looking for an agent or a publisher.
English

@LSalt1 fair enough.
I'm glad to be free of everyone else's limitations, and just write.
English

@ChaceRandolph Because I don’t think I can do it myself. Self-publishing is not for everybody. Likely every route to publication, it has its limitations, unfortunately.

Spring is in the air, so why not treat yourself to a beautiful new novel filled with lush and vivid descriptions of nature and an absolutely ripping yarn 😍
Paper Sisters is available now! share.google/hcShkcPB1Ubj3h…

@ProfilePitEvent Thank you! I’ll be pitching two works actually: one is a published novel, another - a project I’m currently querying.

@AvaSLoomar I heard such thing about agents. Supposedly, they read queries in batches. Maybe mags do the same and sync their batch-reading 😵💫
