Spring has sprung

Difficult day at Wykeham forest/Troutsdale area due to heavy fog which didn't clear until early afternoon. Did manage to get all the targets though with 2 Goshawk, 3 or 4 Marsh tits, 1 Dipper, 2 Crossbill and a heard only Raven. @nybirdnews

The king of the Boreal Forest in Estonia, the Ural Owl, was my personal highlight from our trip earlier this month. Where we were lucky to see 18 individuals during the first warm spell of Spring. Ural Owls are the top dogs out in the Estonian Forests.

Male and female Common Goldeneye this morning at St Aidan's RSPB Leeds , a winter visitor here, will return to the far North soon though a few do breed in Scotland. Beautiful ducks ❤️

4 BoC shots from today at Pierella Eco Gardens with a little garden birding back at my Hotel making a total of 58 species seen - 50 being lifers. Saw more species but unable to solidly ID. Morning birding in gardens again before off to Rancho Naturalista. Costa Rica is brill!
