ICE is facing public scrutiny following two fatal incidents where the officers involved were not wearing body cameras. Although Congress approved $20 million for body worn cameras, DHS says there have been delays in getting them out to all the field offices.

Mexico is requesting U.S state attorneys investigate cases of Mexican who died at hands of ICE. Mexican government says 17 died in ICE custody or during enforcement operations under the Trump administration, 14 in detention, 3 during operations, including Lorenzo Salgado Araujo.

Fifteen Anti-ICE protestors in Texas received sentences totaling 556 years for a demonstration  outside the Prairieland Detention Center  on July 4th, 2025. The government called it a riot and a planned attack, while journalists and protestors described it as a demonstration.
