At La Rabida, we know first impressions are just as important as the journey. We proudly celebrated our frontline team during Patient Access Week. Often behind the scenes but playing a critical role, our team supports every patient, family, & care team for a seamless visit.

La Rabida Children's Hospital is proud to share that our President & CEO, Dr. Rolla T. Sweis, has been named a Crain’s Chicago Business 2026 Notable Health Care Leader. This recognition reflects Dr. Sweis's commitment to our teams, patients, families, and the community.

The “Glow and Grow” theme for the 2026 MEANGirlsEmpowerment Girls Health Matters Summit was a perfect fit for the work we do every day to nurture and support the growth and healthy futures of young people in our community.

Jessica, occupational therapist, and Liz, speech-language pathologist, have been working with 5-year-old Donovan to reach new heights and milestones. April is #autismacceptancemonth and a time to celebrate, support, and uplift every child’s unique strength and personality.

Staying at the hospital can be overwhelming, but our Child Life Specialists make those moments a bit easier for our patients and families. From easing fear to creating fun memories, they bring comfort, understanding, and support when it’s needed most.

Patients and families at La Rabida Children’s Hospital were surprised by the Easter Bunny on Sunday morning! Allen Kutchins, hospital supporter, dressed up and delivered baskets to our inpatient unit families, bringing smiles and creating cherished family memories.

Helping & protecting children is an all-hands-on-deck approach. We are grateful for @HarveyPolice Det. Baptist-Spruiell, @CAC_of_Illinois Joan Pernecke Champions of Children Awardee, who has responded professionally and collaboratively with our CAC team for nearly 20 years.

Congratulations to our Stronger Together team, who won the Chicago Health Executive Forum Innovation Award! Since September 2024, the team has helped more than 500 kids and 1,000 parents and caregivers navigate the school system in partnership with Cook County Health.

We are proud to congratulate three crew members for outstanding contributions to safety during Patient Safety Awareness Week! In every department, throughout every discipline, and through every shift, our team stays on top of every decision, every day to keep our children safe!

There’s a new sheriff in town! During his first birthday rodeo, Jalani rounded up smiles, laughter, and sweet family moments. Milestones make for the best memories, and our staff is always ready to saddle up to help make the best experience possible.

Taking a coffee break is a lot more fun with the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation! Cuppy Coffee matched our patients’ energy and dance moves during a visit to La Rabida. Visits to the doctor are full of fun surprises, with child-friendly, familiar faces!
