Congratulations to @PUCancerInst member Andy Tao on being named a 2025 fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (@aaas).
Tao is being honored for distinguished contributions to biochemistry, including pioneering work in biological mass spectrometry that has advanced understanding of intracellular signaling and intercellular communication, with applications in biomarker discovery across cancer and other diseases.
One winner of #Purdue’s Exceptional Early Career Teaching Award has been announced! Congratulations to Hannah Starr, @PurdueScience assistant professor of practice of chemistry. 🏆
The #ASMS Career Mentoring & Mock Interview Program is underway!
Through structured mock interviews and 1-on-1 mentoring conversations, participants get to refine their approach and think intentionally about what’s next.
We're excited to see these connections in action!
Hot off the press! A new Editors’ Choice article from @J_ASMS. Each Editor’s Choice selection spotlights research the editorial team believes stands out for its innovation and relevance.

Five years ago, I shared a picture of CRB on my very first day at @YaleChem. Today, almost exactly 5 years later I'm walking into the same building with a new title (and a lot of construction)! I’m thrilled to share that I am officially an Associate Professor with tenure!! 🥂🎉
@jbsteinberg For many of us it is both a job and a hobby. That’s why we work our 80+ hour-log weeks. In the summer, you get a break from teaching, but not from everything. If you have an active research group, summer is your prime time for research, conferences, networking, proposal writing.
Tenured academia is really not "just a job."
- can't be fired.
- get a 5-month summer break.
- complete flexibility on schedule/wfh
- study what interests you
-get paid more than enough to live comfortably.
It's completely rational to work insanely hard to get this!
Excited to welcome 1st year graduate students to the group: Please, meet (from left to right) Naina Beishembieva, Josh Koval, and Yuna Chen. The future is looking bright!
Excited to share our perspective article in Accounts of Chemical Research on isomer-selective nano-DESI imaging. Congratulations to all the co-authors: Sara Amer, Lixue Jiang, Mushfeqa Iqfath (@MIqfath), and Miranda Weigand!

We are grateful for the opportunity to present our work at the IMSIS conference! Nazifa Wali and Mushfeqa Iqfath did a great job presenting their research.
We are having fun at the Turkey Run analytical conference organized by graduate students. It is always great to learn about new developments in analytical chemistry!
I am excited to share the final version of the special issue of #IJMS honoring Richard O'Hair. Check out this exciting article collection and insightful editorials! This is a great tribute to a wonderful colleague and a leader in gas phase ion chemistry!
