Just back from a wonderful poetry reading at my children's school. This was one of my daughter's contributions to the evening. I know I will never have the vision to write anything as beautiful as "I will unbutton the sea from the sky..." (Thank you @CalebParkin for guiding her)

#MyScienceMay 'Fun Fact': The illustrations for the famous 1858 Gray's Anatomy textbook were too large for the page! Discovered late in the process, the originals destroyed during engraving - some serious creativity employed to fit the illustrations onto the page! 🫀🧠✍️📔

#MyScienceMay my "fun" fact is that the people of Ancient Egypt (at least the ones who were mummified) had atherosclerosis! Atherosclerosis is the fatty deposits in our blood vessels that can lead to heart attacks. And it isn't new! jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.…

My question for #MyScienceMay prompt today is: What are some good resources for teaching kids about the importance of caring for the environment? Do home recycling & sustainability practices really make a difference? 🌿🌏🌿 #MyScienceMay #SciComm @LetsTalkSciComm

I am LOVING this STEMPals program - have got so much out of it in previous years, & really enjoying the latest round of letters. Can't wait to give this a listen! 🎧 Thanks @DrPayne_AMR for translating your passions into supporting the next gen of scientists!

@Labnerd_Maclean I also check my to-do list at those times. But also throughout the day as priorities change and new tasks fall into my lap. The list is a super useful for filling in performance review paperwork because it reminds me of what I did and when.

First stop - Tea ☕️ and to-do list. 📝 I always consult my to-do list first & last thing in the day to keep me on track. Usually done on the 🚂 so I am ready to jump in when I arrive. Next stop - tunes! 🎶 🎵

What's the first thing you do when you get to work (or perhaps what you do to prepare for work if you WFH)? I have a guess that this might involve caffeine, but I'm here to be surprised! #MyScienceMay #SciComm #ScienceLife @letstalkscicomm

Wonderful to see this positive news. A project that's close to my heart, it's great to see this work from Prof Jackson, A/Prof Schoenwaelder & and the team being translated to a Phase IIb trial. 🧠🩺🫀👩‍🔬👨‍🔬🔬🥼
