The reduced RK method, a more efficient discretization approach, fails to track the cont-time system as accurately as the original RK method when using the same step size. While V remains positive, ΔV is not negative, meaning Lyapunov-based stability guarantees no longer hold.

The Lyapunov function from the continuous-time system is evaluated along the discrete-time trajectories. When the discretization is sufficiently accurate, V remains positive, and ΔV is negative, ensuring the system's stability.
