The 2026 Coca-Cola 600 will be the first NASCAR Cup Series race without an “Earnhardt” or “Busch” in the field since 1979.
It is the first Coca-Cola 600 without either since 1977. Richard Petty won that race.
The 47 and 49-year streaks will be broken tonight.

NEWS: Kyle Busch, one of the purest racing talents NASCAR has ever seen and winner of more national series races than any driver in history, has died after falling severely ill, NASCAR announced Thursday.
Busch was hospitalized this week and never recovered. He was 41.

@fried_egg_golf To illustrate this point: what would MLB do if most fly balls were home runs? Would it accept 35-30 box scores, continually extend outfield fences to save historic ballparks, or, as it has, restrict ball and bat technology to preserve field dimensions? Golf must bifurcate.
