@TheOnlyZoltan @JusagiChan Artists generally work for peanuts until they get enough of a following to not have to chase after clients. I have family making good money in the traditional art world, but one of them was living in a studio with 5 other guys early on.

@JusagiChan I've never heard of anyone charging a "fair wage" for there talents as a freelancer (working with individual commissioners). But I'm also not an artist. Is that actually common among artists or is everyone working for peanuts?

I totally get that i should be paid a fair wage but honestly my standard commission has me making like 10 bucks an hour lol... still if I charged more I know many can't afford it. Heck, lots of people ghost me after they hear my prices. It is what it is! I'm happy to keep prices low because I love animating!

Commission prices are out of control. Simple as. 300 bucks for a ref sheet or basic drawing?? Hell no. That's 10 HOURS of my life I would have had to spend to be able to afford that. Actually, it's definitely more than that because the government taxes wages.

I would expect Cover to bring that quality to whatever venue they use. That said, the offkai/oshispark folks are decently good. Good enough for ex-Holos to work with them.

@faunaswag I went to LA once for the dodgers hololive night never again. I was harassed by multiple homeless people. The streets smelled of piss and shit and my mom was sexually harassed. I'm happy others have pleasant experiences it's not California that sucks just LA🫠🫠

@aidoruhakase It wouldn’t be crowded if people didn’t like it enough to show up and deal with the crowds. I worked an anime con in TX and it was empty and easy to walk around, but there was nothing to do there either. If it’s not your cup of tea that’s fine.

@aNiMeGaMeR0 @0SailorRose0 @aidoruhakase They do Fes at a convention center because a concert hall can’t accommodate the multi-stage format. I’ve been to Offkai before and as much as I enjoyed it and the concerts there, the stages weren’t up to the same standard as any of the Holo EN concerts.

@jjjeeesss_ They’ve also said a big chunck of profits come from the merch sales for the event and blu-ray sales after. But it’s not like they ever sell merch at the venue and blu-rays are sold waayyy after the fact.

Are Zoomers really this prudish? Most of my friends lost the V card between 15 and 20, and I punched mine at 17 in a threesome.
