@LaddNabyyy @John112512 @AbuHafsah1 That’s not the standard historians use. Any “internal/external evidence” is just interpretation. Not certainty of authorship. There are many modern scholars who argue that it wasn’t written by John. Bart D Erham is one.

Yes, you can flip it, but it doesn’t work, because the Quran never claims to be a biography of Jesus…. it’s revelation, the word of God. RE John, the issue isn’t proving anonymity, the text literally never identifies its author, and that name was added by church tradition. So, unless you know who “John” - that’s an anonymous writer. “1st century outweighs 7th century” Are you seriously saying an anonymous text that was passed down, a copy of a copy, never in the original language, no original manuscript exists outweighs perfectly preserved revelation, in its original language & has a manuscript that traces back to the time of Prophet Muhammad SAW?
