#GlobalGreenham40 📢 The problems of nuclear waste were picked up by women across the world. Micronesia became an important campaigning point against the American deployment and use of nuclear weapons in the countries who experienced increasing levels of poverty 👇👇🇫🇲

Wonderful thread from @UkNatArchives for anyone interested in #suffrage #WomensHistory and new ways to engage with #PublicHistory. @UniRdg_History students, weigh up the options and create your own suffrage narrative...

It is the 10th October, 1903, and you are Rose Larkin, a 22-year-old factory worker from London. You work long hours in poor conditions to survive. You wonder if women will gain the vote? If women deserve the vote? What it might take to secure it?

#GlobalGreenham40 📢Women all over the world took a stand against nuclear weapons ♀️🪧 This leaflet promotes the campaign against the dumping of American nuclear waste in the Pacific Ocean, specifically in Guam where there was a strong anti-nuclear protest in 1980. #WHM2021

@LadyAstor100 I will look for the Lady Astor references in my family letters. Arthur was a prep school headmaster, they both thought Nancy being MP was a good idea

In 1919 Arthur and Dorothy, of Mount House School in Plymouth, were also supporters of Nancy Astor. They went to watch the returns coming in on Election night. Arthur wrote in a letter - she will shake things up #1900s #letters #100yearsofcox
