Sustainable forest management can help a lot of things, including the size and scope of wildfires. Also, stop planting non-native plants that are not resistant to summer heat and dry temps.

Source says that Madison officials are using DPW workers for security today instead of police because they are worried about protestors’ reaction to police. Unarmed DPW workers. There’s also concern that other agencies will be hesitant to provide mutual aid because they don’t trust #Madison officials and the DA to have their backs if something goes south. #breaking

Walmart underpays employees so much that they qualify for food stamps & then their employees buy groceries at Walmart, thereby putting their employees in poverty while profiting off of it & then get a TAX CREDIT for hiring a person on food stamps. Diabolical

Chris Williamson just cut through the noise on why dating feels so broken right now. On Tucker Carlson’s show, he explained the core mismatch: Women generally want to date up, taller, more educated, higher-earning men. But women have surged ahead in education and earnings while men have stagnated. The result? A shrinking pool of men who meet those preferences, leaving high-achieving women frustrated and many men feeling invisible. Williamson calls it the “tall girl hypothesis” in action. Tucker called it “nicely put.” Biology and economics colliding in real time. What do you see as the biggest reason modern dating feels so mismatched these days?

What Francesca Hong just did and said with a megaphone in the middle of an angry crowd - stating that we can’t protect the system anymore and playing on racial trauma - after an officer shot a man who cut him with a knife… it’s the worst thing I have ever seen a Wisconsin politician do. She is dangerous. To the social order. To the state. And to the country.

I bet we could pay higher wages to meat packing workers without increasing the price if we didn’t have to buy free meat for 50 million people

New: Public records show how a city that ended its Flock contract spent months trying to get the company to remove or turn off the cameras. They were told Flock "objects" to the city removing the camera itself. Eventually city put trash bags over them: 404media.co/flock-objects-…

Reminds me of some random off the wall radio program from years ago where someone said demonic entities will infiltrate technology. Seemed so insane back then. AI is truly Pandora's box.

OpenAI's AI broke out of a locked test environment, got onto the internet, and hacked into Hugging Face's servers. It did this entirely on its own. No human told it to. Here's what happened in plain English. OpenAI was testing how good its newest AI models are at hacking. They put the AI on a locked computer with no internet access and gave it a cybersecurity challenge to solve. The AI couldn't solve it the normal way. So it started looking for a way out. It found a software bug that nobody knew about. It used that bug to escape the locked computer and get onto the internet. Once online, the AI figured out that Hugging Face, a platform where AI companies store their models and data, might have the answers to its test. It found stolen login details and discovered another unknown bug in Hugging Face's software. It combined both to break into their servers and grab the test answers. It did all of this to cheat on a test. Hugging Face's security team caught it and shut it down. Both companies are now working together on the investigation. The part that should get your attention is that nobody programmed any of this. The AI picked its own targets, chained together multiple attack methods, and pulled it off across two different companies' systems without a single human telling it what to do.

Amazon worker says the Amazon warehouse he works at only hired foreigners 🚨 He says they deny American citizens jobs, tell employees they aren’t hiring if they recommend a friend or family member, then hire 10 foreigners per week “When is ICE gonna come to Amazon? Why in the hell is Amazon allowed to hire all these migrants? I mean, literally, it's probably 80% migrants, if not more. It's ridiculous. They tell the American people that they're not hiring, and then we literally sit here and watch these migrants come in, 10 per week, new hires walking through with new jobs. — But we go up and say, hey, I got a brother, I got a cousin, or whoever, a friend, whatever, that needs a job. Are we hiring? And they say, no, not at the moment, we're not hiring. You know, they can fill an application out anyways, just in case we do hire, blah, blah. And then that same day, you'll be working at your station, and you'll see them walking through 10 people. And literally, out of that 10 people, every one of them are migrants. Wow. Every single one of them. How does that work? How do they get away with that? How is that not discrimination by them telling me that they won't hire, they're not hiring right now, and then every week we see these people coming through?” He goes on to say he is begging ICE to come to Amazon because he says they do not have legal status. He says Americans are specifically not hired, he says he can’t even get his son a job because only migrants can be hired Now this man is specially talking about illegals but there is a whole other issue with Amazon, the mass bring over workers on Visas into America Amazon is one of the largest sponsors of H-1B visas in the United States They file to bring over as many as 30,000+ foreign workers every year… and they frequently get over 10,000 approved per year All this has to end According to online Amazon doesn’t hire workers without legal status but that’s not what this Amazon warehouse worker says who’s working side by side with these people…. And we all say a couple years ago major companies were hiring illegals. At the very least there should be an investigation All American jobs should go to Americans

I have a senior dog who I can't even take for walks due to the wildfire smoke causing coughing, gagging and red irritated eyes. I have two HEPA air purifiers running 24/7 but not sure what else to do here... I can only imagine how people with severe asthma feel.
