@delantec1 I can’t speak on the Gullah side of things, haven’t spent time in SC, but nothing you’re saying changes the fact that I grew up in a predominantly Black American CITY on the coast. Again, the COUNTIES include islands (5 off my mainland hometown) that are predominantly white

I have family in Walterboro, charleston and buford. I study sociology. I know these numbers because ive did the research myself. From Miami to main there is a 18% black population. From Cali to Oregon its only 5%. In total there arent any costal counties that are predominantly black. Cities only contain part of the population thats why you have to use county when counting people.

@delantec1 MOST of the black folks live on the mainland, some do live on the island but in much lower numbers and we know why that is. Regardless, I didn’t go to a school that wasn’t mostly Black American (students and teachers) until high school, where it was prob a 60/40 split

@delantec1 Reread what I said. I said BRUNSWICK, the CITY I was born and raised in, is about 60% Black. The CITY of Jacksonville is about 30%, the CITY of Savannah is about 50%
