Confidence in severe weather Monday continues to increase as we will have a potentially volatile environment in place. All severe hazards will be at play and our Slight (2/5) has been extended further south covering almost the entire Mid-South. ⛈️#bepreparednotscared #midsouthwx

Here's a look at how showers and thunderstorms might play out on Friday. Storms passing to the southwest of Memphis will have the greatest risk of reaching severe limits, with damaging winds the primary threat.

Shower chances sporadic thunderstorm chances will begin to increase overnight as a cold front approaches the Mid-South. A few rounds will continue through much of the day tomorrow, pushing northwest to southeast. Be sure to grab those umbrellas when heading out the door!☔️

The Slight Risk for severe storms has been expanded northeastward. Large hail and damaging winds remain the primary concerns. Given the environment, very large hail (up to 2 inches in diameter) is not out of the question.
