Often, when parents are sure they're being helpful, their adult children are sure they're being controlling. Here are three ways good intentions fail and cost parents respect. psychologytoday.com/us/blog/liking…

Strong marriages often begin with the right guidance. The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has launched a Religious Pre-Marital Counselling Course, a free online training designed for religious marriage counsellors. The course is facilitated by experienced professionals: Mr. Praise Fowowe, Pastor (Dr.) Emmanuel Temilade Oladele, Imam Adekunle Omotayo Saheed, and Mrs. Folashade Ajayi, who bring extensive expertise in family life, counselling, marriage education and relationship development. Through this course, religious marriage counsellors will gain practical tools on building healthy marriages, strengthening communication, managing conflict, recognising early warning signs of abuse, and preventing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence. The course is completely free and can be taken online at your convenience. 🌐 Enrol for free: safeguardingfamilies.org.ng @jidesanwoolu @drobafemihamzat @gbenga_omo @gboyegaakosile @LanreBajulaiye @BarrBimbola @Mr_JAGs @Riddwane #AGreaterLagosRising #LASG #LagosDSVA #SGBVItConcernsUsAll #SGBVNotInMyLagos

From Aso-Ebi to Parenting 👶🏾 The wedding is beautiful, the celebration unforgettable… but what happens after? Before rushing into parenthood, couples should pause to build a strong emotional, financial, and mental foundation. Intentional parenting begins before a child is born.

Schools that prioritize student well-being often have a team in place that includes counsellors, pastoral leaders, and teachers trained to provide both emotional and academic support. lagosmums.com/?p=68384 via @lagosmums

Every child must be taught what it means to say No. To speak up, say no to secrets and to know what sexual assault is.

Parents are currently being "asked to do the impossible" (monitor algorithms, manage dozens of apps) etc. The new regulations (such as bans) support parents to be more effective in being an intentional digital parent.

The African proverb that it takes a village to raise a child now has a digital counterpart. I call it the e-village. An informed AI community matters lagosmums.com/?p=69507 via @lagosmums

It is not that screens are bad! It is unexamined and unrestricted screen time that is bad. Parents can upskill and become more intentional in setting practical boundaries amazon.co.uk/Digital-Savvy-…

I like to share about the difference being an “intentional digital parent” can make so that when your teens become independent and heavy screen users, you have helped them build the skills they need to be mindful with their digital consumption. @WilliamsYetty

GUYS, I MARRIED MY BEST FRIEND. MY LOVER❤️ THANKS GIVING TIME March 15 this year, we chose quiet. And in that quiet, we chose each other. No noise, no spectacle, just a man in a suit, a woman in white, and a love that did not need witnesses to be real. I look at her, and I see grace standing still; she looks at me and sees a future that finally feels like home. This was not performance. This was covenant. We give thanks to God, who reminds us that “He makes everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11). This was our time. And we are grateful. 🤍 #OfeOse25 #DoubleO #O(fe+se)

What I read about CHIMAMANDA this morning hurt me deeply. She has experienced so much grief in a short while. May God touch her where no one can. If you are a Christian, please mention her name to God. If she has ever blessed you through her writing, please whisper her name in your prayers. Grief changes you. Lord, we commit your child into your hands. Please wipe her tears, and restore her, and her husband in a way only you can. Over to you, Oloruko Apegbore.

The goal is not to control technology. It is to raise children who can navigate it, even when we are not there. Think less map. More compass. You are not behind you are paying attention!

Parenting in the digital age is challenging. We have more tools, information, and access than ever before. Yet external influences now compete with parents in ways we have never seen. If 2025 taught us anything, it is that silence does not protect children.
