I think anyone prefers Giannis over DA. But for the purposes of this team, I don’t see him as great fit. Not only are there health concerns, but people forget Giannis is a point forward. He needs the ball in his hands, but people have envisioned Luka and Giannis just doing PNR’s to death, but teams are just going to load up in the paint. Not only that, but acquiring Giannis would essentially require us gutting the rest of the roster and putting unusable pieces that don’t address any needs to fill the void, à la 2022. The way to go is to surround Luka and Reaves with athletes on the wing that can shoot and versatility on the interior.

@SamuelWilmer1 Yeah they’d have to either finesse it into a three team deal or give him more money to make it worth it. I personally prefer the plan to keep Austin but I was just trying to see what a Giannis path would even look like

@LakerOptimistic The biggest problem with your scenario though is that it requires reaves agreeing to a sign and trade for a rebuilding and lottery team in Wisconsin which I don’t see as very appealing to him when he can choose anywhere in league

@SamuelWilmer1 I don’t see him as some real high level third guy type like Watson could potentially be at all. Just a real solid MLE guy that can play defense and hit 3s at a decent clip

@LakerOptimistic My concern with grimes is he seems like a garbage time/tank master. He put up all his stats last year when the 76ers were intentionally losing. Now that their team is injured and losing again he started putting up stats

@SamuelWilmer1 I’d think so. I see Watson getting like 20 million and Grimes getting something like 13, but I could see Grimes taking a little less in this scenario for a starting spot on a contender

Two things can be true and are most definitely true Luka is better than SGA but SGA should be MVP

This is the seeding Lakers fans should want. Lakers would have a relatively easy first round, then they’d get a young Spurs team and if they make it to the WCF the Thunder will have had to play Kawhi and Jokic enroute
