The group, which includes nationals from countries such as the DRC, Ethiopia, Burundi, Uganda, and Somalia, gathered at the Durban Central Police Station seeking protection. They alleged that they were told to return to their countries. The situation escalated when the group moved into the streets to protest and making demands to police, prompting police to use rubber bullets to disperse the crowd.
