Just some thoughts on being T20 World Champions… again. We own this format. Largely thanks to the IPL; so a hat tip for the BCCI and @LalitKModi Seeing plenty of “sour grapes” abroad about flat tracks and India bullying world cricket. Funny thing is, we all lived through the era when teams turned up dutifully and Australia collected trophies like airport luggage. Get used to India doing the same. In T20s, we could probably field three international-level XIs right now. Also delighted we lost the toss and New Zealand chose. Otherwise the conspiracy uncles would’ve warmed up their WA forwards. Yes, it was a batting track. Our bowlers simply used it better. Simple. Against a side that steam-rolled South Africa in the semis. Chased 173 in 13 Sanju Samson. What a redemption arc. From squad exile to cornerstone. Film rights Chetta? And imagine having Tendulkar as tech support for your game upgrade. Love it Jasprit Bumrah Someone called him the Bradman of bowling. Not wrong. We’re lucky to be alive during this spell of fast bowling sorcery. Universally admired, universally feared. Should’ve been joint MOTM in the semis. Sanju said it first tbf Ishan’s safe hands n fifty. Dube’s turbo cameo. Tilak’s vault-grade catching. Arshdeep going full Bumrah-lite. Abhishek…Finally! And a brave call to keep backing Varma in the final. That’s team sport. Different heroes, different days. And the comfort of knowing everyone can show up when it matters. Separately This political ugliness needs to stop. From all sides. Bangladeshi players deserved IPL participation; their board overreacted as well. If India sits atop the shortest format, we must lead with class. Dominance and decency aren’t mutually exclusive. Let’s be the absurdly wealthy big brother who’s also a solid bloke to know. And to play with. Jai Hind 🇮🇳 #BleedBlue #T20WorldCup2026final
