While the role of gold in financing Sudan's war has been well documented, there is another resource—"the golden tears of Africa," or gum arabic—that has played a key role in fuelling the ongoing conflict. Sudan controls roughly 70-80% of the world's supply of gum arabic, a resource found in soft drinks, pharmaceuticals, certain foods, cosmetics, etc. The Rapid Support Forces currently control approximately 80% of the gum arabic trade, frequently smuggling it out of the country. من يومين في كفر الدوار، محافظة البحيرة، فيه بنت اسمها أميرة عندها ١٨ سنة.. برغم سنها ده أميرة كانت زوجة وأم لطفلة بعد جوازها من قريبها محمد اللي عنده (٢٧ سنة)..
حصل خلاف بين اميرة وجوزها، ووقتها محمد (جوزها وقريبها) قرر يـربطها في كرسي ويـربط ايـديها ورجلـها وجاب سلك كهرباء وكـهـ.ـربها لحد ما مـاتـت..
وبعدها خد جثــتها للمستشفى عشان يقول هناك انها اتكهربت عادي في البيت، لكن بسبب وجود آثار صـعـق بالكهرباء في الايدين والساعدين، مفتش الصحة شك في وجود شُبهة جنـائية ولما اتقبض على الزوج اعترف بالجـريمة وبررها بجملة انها "حرمتنى من حقوقى الشرعية"!!
فيه مئات الستات بتخسر حياتها كل سنة في جرايم مشابهه عشان بيقولوا لأ.. وأكيد فيه زيهم كتير محدش حتى بيعرف سبب موتهم الحقيقي.
ملحوظة مهمة: بنفكركم أن جواز القاصــرات جريمة، ولو تعرفوا أي حد هيتجوز تحت ١٨ سنة ما تترددوش تبلغوا نجدة الطفل والبلاغات ينفع تتعمل من غير اسمكم!

I thought the world would make more noise about the fact that the capital city of Sudan, Khartoum is an environmental health hazard. So many dead bodies just piled up that migrating birds change their route to stop there and eat the corpses.. so many dead bodies that it’s become a mating ground for stray dogs.
Is this just normal news now to us or do you people just not care about us?

I don’t know where to start in regard to how dire, how horrific the situation is in Sudan. Impending famine, sexual violations & violence, near zero healthcare & education, displacement of 10mn people. It’s frustrating we all keep shouting & nothing.
