People complaining about the stadium being downtown probably arent aware that U2 literally used downtown KC to represent an *apocalyptic wasteland*. You know what changed that?
The sprint center. Power and Light. Things people like @HartzellForKC would adamantly oppose.

Uh buddy...Lion Turtles just gave humans the ABILITY to bend. After humans got the ability to bend, the animals taught them HOW to do it. What you want is still canon and isn't refuted by the Lion Turtle.
Maybe try giving the show a rewatch. Or a first watch.

The whole Lion Turtle thing sucked. Bending being a martial art learned from people observing the animals is way more deep spiritually and culturally because most of the greatest martial arts from Asia were based on people studying animals. And It opened the door to possibilities like... can other forms of bending be found by studying other animals? Can they be mixed to make more?

@njeraedihrider @shekuwow An ability that some people randomly have is exactly what “harmonic convergence” made bending into. The idea that bending began from mimicking the motions of nature and evolved to where it was in ATLA is far more interesting

@Landon_Ri @shekuwow why else would the avatar be special and be able to reincarnate. and if its just a matter of mimicking movements, what exactly makes people benders, a hereditary trait from a source that can be traced, or just an ability some people randomly have

You guys do not watch the show you’re criticizing.
The lion turtles gave humans the raw ability to bend, but the forms and mastery were taught from animals. That’s why they’re called the original benders.
Wan is literally seen learning from a dragon.

And yet they thought the lion turtles just giving people bending like magic powers was a better origin story than it being an extension of nature.

It didn’t ruin anything. The lion turtles give you bending, but they can’t teach you how to use it. Dragons use fire (firebenders), sky bison use air, badgermoles use earth, and the moon moves the ocean. Lion turtles gave power & a weapon, nature taught them how to use it.
