@dahldoescards Couldn’t agree more. It’s been an ongoing trend and this really puts an emphasis on it. I’ve been watching this trend for some time now. The Dallas show got in the way of my next article, but this is the reason I finally got my substack going to address the issue of finding value

Maybe I'm way off base here, but I'm surprised by the responses to this tweet. Almost everybody is pointing out players they feel are priced too low. Yet here I am thinking almost all of them are priced way too high. Two weeks post-release for 2025 Bowman, prices for Jesus Made ($244), Charlie Condon ($156), JJ Wetherholt ($134), and Travis Bazzana ($130) all settled above $100. Kevin McGonigle ($93), Luis Pena ($83), Zyhir Hope ($76), and Franklin Arias ($71) rounded out the top 8. Extend that to three weeks post-release and every '25 Bowman prospect except Travis Bazzana saw prices stay flat or fall. Within a month, only Jesus Made ($189), Travis Bazzana ($151), JJ Wetherholt ($118), and Charlie Condon ($100) remained at or above $100. Maybe you disagree with the order the market has settled into one week post-release, but arguing that prices are too low feels wrong. There are currently only 24 non-debuted prospects with base autos priced over $100. 33% of those players comes from a checklist of 75 first-year Bowman Chrome prospect autographs. Maybe I am crazy, but it certainly does not feel as if there are eight top chases in this release (I'm not here to argue the quality of the players on this checklist). One month after the 2025 Bowman release, only 19 players had base autos over $100. I wouldn't be surprised to see that number drop again this year, from 24 to 20, leaving just 3 or 4 prospects from this release above $100. The volatility this close to release is historically hard to keep up with, but there is money to be made. History shows that throwing a lot at top chases this soon after release is one of the least efficient ways to make money. The way to win in the chaos is to find value elsewhere, stay patient, and pick your spots.

@rossjensen @StatlineScout Haha fair. Health and inconsistency have been my issues this year and last too. Your roster is loaded but very young. Idk what you really need tbh looking at it now. In a year or two you’re gonna be in the top tier for sure. That was a dumpster fire when you took over

@Jace_TCG Usually when I trade with people as a vendor, my main objective is what’s easier for me to move, not necessarily what’s the percentage I need to be at. If I have to come up with a number, it’s usually 85-90% otherwise I don’t really want the card so no point in trying to trade

At a card show. I pick out some cards and ask vendor if I can trade for them. “Uh sure we trade at 80%” “Why?” “We run a business.” “You can still meet your margins if you sell the cards you trade for at market though.” “Yeah I’m not gonna debate you on this” I left.

Tried to make it easier and buy but he didn’t want to sell at the time

Great day at the @DallasCardShow today. Picked up some killer stuff! At LONG last I finally found a Langford sapphire auto and picked up some Stars heat from @DALStarsCards and a couple fun Rangers cards from @Lanman113 - always a pleasure, fellas!
