@IllFonic Arcades were life back in the day. We used to have a theater connected to one, which ALSO had a mini-golf place next to 'that' back in N.C. Watching a movie, then hitting up the arcade after, followed by mini-golf was a BLAST - typically reserved for special occasions.

@DroptineArt It sucks because now you have to wade through a lot of saturation / fake furry bullshit to weed out the people who are clearly only into this for money, and that's all. Or are in it just for pure clout. There was a little of that even back in the day. More so now tho.

It happened not only because of this but because of the sweep of “anyone can be furry :)” arguments we had all through the 2010s that turned furry from a niche lifestyle for passionate nerds into a hobby one could engage with for monetary or social gain. Longtime furs rightfully tried to gatekeep the fandom and we were endlessly browbeaten for “not being welcoming to young people” and now it’s like a common joke to point out that “puriteens” and “minors” dictate what is and isn’t allowed in our community. Everyone is right to insist we “keep furry weird” but when we still make for the oceans of casuals who are doing furry for a fad, which are exactly the type that would buy their furry merch at Spencer’s and not from actual creators online, we are not keeping it weird. It’s the same phenomenon that spawned the “gamer girl” archetype outside of furry, there’s a whole Type Of Young Person that gets into a “quirky” hobby purely for the optics and social/financial gain and no one was allowed to notice that all through the 2010s because you were seen as “bullying young people who needed a space to be weird” to point out like “yeah okay but they’re all coming in here and immediately trying to monetize it and also telling people who’ve been here for decades what we are and aren’t allowed to draw”. Now look where we are! Corporations have stolen merch ideas from us, they’ve stolen our sex toy ideas, they’re making “fursonas” and they’re allowed to do while you’re getting canceled and demonetized by hoards of people who are buying their products over yours. This is exactly why nerds gatekept for decades!

I don't know if it's a thing because I never tried it, and never seen it in restaurants. But I made some eggs and then mixed mac n' cheese in it, and it's fantastic. :0 I think people typically do that with casseroles, but I just put it all in a bowl and ate it, so good.
