I am beyond thrilled to announce that I will be joining the Biology Department at @Stanford as Assistant Professor! The Barone lab will be based at @HopkinsMarine station and will open doors on March 1st, 2024. So there is still some time, but stay tuned: Cell-Evo-Devo is coming!

Overall we’ve found a surprising degree of intrinsic regulation of Hox gene expression and cell behaviour over time in development ⌛️

We wanted to know if Hox gene expression is intrinsic to axial progenitor populations or if it is regulated by extrinsic cues. Looking at Hox gene expression in the grafts (HCR) reveals that the HH8 Hox gene profile is robustly maintained in the HH4 environment, and vice versa
