A first for Lawrence Academy (at least in recent memory), senior Alex Egbuonu was asked by #ESPN’s @SCNext to appear on their show and reveal which college he would be playing basketball for next year. After sharing the news with them, Alex made his way down to the Stone Court to inform the LA community (who packed the gym in their support of the @NCAA-bound Spartan) which college he picked. We lost a good one yesterday in Lawrence Academy legend Kevin Wiercinski. He not only was a highly successful coach (4 New England Championships; 2 NBA players; placed many kids in college) but was one of the all time great people. I will miss my buddy dearly!

I will be attending Western Reserve Academy for my senior year!!!

Kevin was a great teacher and kids responded to him. I remember the first time I saw him coach, I ended up watching him more than the game. Prayers to Brandon, the Wiercinski family, and Lawrence Academy.
