@hendrick_m34462 Sure! I called it After Beatles. Also, my idea was that Ringo sang Uncle Albert. Enjoy!

@larrywilmore Larry, you once did a track listing of what could have been the last Beatles album. Do you still have it? I loved the way it flowed

I haven’t seen all the films this year but it seemed like a nice spreading around of the awards. I like when that happens. #oscars

@philiplord Congrats to you and Chris, Phil. Great film! Loved it!

Thanks to CBS Sunday Morning for spotlighting Black Out Loud — my new book on the impact of Black comedy and the golden age of 90s sitcoms. Pick up a copy wherever books are sold. youtu.be/QP5B158mP3M

It’s a privilege to make a movie. A bigger one to do it with your best friend. Bigger still to have so much help from so many brilliant artists and friends old and new. But the biggest privilege of all is when people you’ve never met give you their time and attention and take a seat. Without that generosity a film cannot exist. Thank you, friends. Thank you strangers. Hope you love it.

@larrywilmore @RobGeorge Paul dated Peggy Lipton, that’s probably a source of animosity

Q has a bit overstatement here. But, OTOH, ask just about anyone what the worst track on Thriller is and you will get almost universal consensus that it’s the McCartney duet, “The Girl Is Mine”. So, maybe Q has a point?

@rolandsmartin She was such a good soul. I met her in the early 90’s, remember playing cards with her at parties. Everybody loved her! RIP 🙏🏽

Just seeing the awful news that Kiki Shepard passed away today after suffering a massive heart attack. She was 74. I just saw her Feb. 12 at the NBA All-Star Weekend Gospel Celebration. She asked me to play in her annual golf tournament. I said yes and we traded numbers. We all knew her from Showtime At The Apollo. She was a legend! RIP, Kiki.

WTAF does “DEI” mean in this context, Jason? In the political sense, “DEI” is supposed to indicate a bureaucracy that makes hiring and placement decisions based on subjective “diverse” criteria of race, gender, sexuality, etc. The Oscars recognize original creative works and performances), in which, yes, subjectivity comes in to play (Denzel should have won for either Malcolm X or The Hurricane — or both — before Training Day; DiCaprio should probably have one or two other Oscars).
But, Michael B. Jordan has built an objectively outstanding acting career — with standout performances in widely honored television shows like Friday Night Lights and The Wire, plus his film breakout in Ryan Coogler’s Fruitvale Station, epic villain role in Black Panther and introducing a new spin on Sylvester Stallone’s “Rocky” franchise.
In short, he’s been an excellent actor for nearly 30 years; he didn’t just pop out of the ether and was granted a Best Actor Oscar for being Black. If you don’t like his Sinners performance, that’s your God-given right. But to suggest that, not just the win, but Jordan’s very nomination was unearned because he happens to be a black man is repugnant. I’d say that you should be ashamed, but we all know that shame is no longer a virtue given value in our contemporary society. Instead the most appalling and despicable “hot take” gains social capital.

Black men who earned their Oscars. Sidney Poitier Denzel Washington Jamie Foxx Forrest Whitaker Will Smith Black who won DEI Oscars Michael B. Jordan Sinners was hot garbage and Jordan's acting was mid at best.

@larrywilmore Thank you, sir! Much appreciated coming from you, especially.

Billy Crystal is the best Oscars host of all time. Was always great! #oscars

@seboskoff I was there a few years ago. Was interviewed on stage and did a q&a with the students.

@larrywilmore Little known fact about #RyanCoogler. He attended Sundance Institute's 2012 January Screenwriters Lab. Great programs hidden in the Utah mountains..

So happy for Ryan Coogler! He’s got the soul of an artist and the brain of a nerdy technician. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽#oscars
