Great to be back at Mohawk College’s Police Foundations program, where I had the opportunity to step into the role of defence counsel in a courtroom simulation alongside Justice Robert Reid! These exercises give students a real sense of what happens inside a courtroom, reinforcing just how critical police work is from the very beginning of an investigation. A big thank you to Professor David Sinclair, a former Brantford Police Service detective, for his continued leadership in shaping the next generation of officers. I’ve been proud to take part in this program for nearly two decades. Watching these students develop the skills, and confidence they’ll need on the front lines! Canada’s future police officers are stepping up and I couldn't be more proud to see what the next generation will do!

The Liberal Finance Minister says he recused himself from the $90 billion ALTO project back in September 2025... but there's no public record of any recusal with the Ethics Commissioner. Six months later, he’s promoted the project in Senate testimony. He’s voted on it in the House of Commons. It’s even included in the very budget he tabled. When $90 billion of taxpayer money is on the line, transparency isn’t optional. Tell Canadians the truth, Minister.

The Finance Minister recused himself over a personal connection… his partner holds a SENIOR VP role with the Crown corporation behind the project! Taxpayer dollars should serve hard-working Canadians, not well-connected insiders and nation-building projects should grow our economy, not drain it! It’s time the Liberals focus on projects that deliver real affordable results now, not a massively expensive train that won’t be fully operational for another decade.

In 2019, Delphin Prestbakmo was brutally killed in a random and unprovoked attack in Surrey, stabbed more than 40 times in a parking lot near his home. Two offenders, aged 15 and 16 at the time, were convicted of second-degree murder and originally given life sentences. Now, those sentences have been overturned and reduced to 7 years . This is why so many Canadians are losing confidence in our justice system. Serious violent crime should carry serious consequences. We need a justice system that reflects the gravity of these crimes and restores confidence for victims and their families. Justice for victims. No more excuses for criminals.

Grateful to have joined my common-sense colleague Jamie Schmale on The Blueprint to break down Bill C-9 and what it really means for Canadians. From removing long-standing protections in the Criminal Code to rushing this bill through Parliament with limited debate, there are serious concerns that cannot be ignored. Canadians deserve transparency, proper scrutiny, and laws that protect both public safety and fundamental freedoms. We’ll continue to stand up for freedom of expression, freedom of religion, and a justice system that puts Canadians first.

When offenders refuse to reveal where victims’ remains are, the suffering doesn’t stop. It continues—every single day families are denied answers. Conservative Bill C-236 would finally recognize this ongoing harm. It would ensure that those who withhold the truth are held accountable in sentencing and parole decisions. The story of the McCann family is a heartbreaking reminder of why this matters. No family should be left without closure because an offender chooses silence. Justice for victims.
