Since we are talking sports fandoms today on here, I figured I’d make this simple & easy: I was born in Connecticut (1991) and inherited UConn basketball from my mom (UConn football was DI-AA much of my youth, sue me). My dad, who was born in Aurora, OH, made me a Cleveland sports fan (Browns, Indians, Cavs) without much option (RIP, but also thanks for that shit, old man). I then went to Penn State for college and root for them in football only, because I couldn’t drop 18 years of UConn hoops loyalty (sorry). I also never had a hockey team growing up (so long, Whalers), and picked the Golden Knights because I liked the idea of an expansion team, love Las Vegas, and ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ is my favorite movie (never expected them to be good, whoops). I also went to high school in Texas and consider that home now. Oh, and I did live in NYC for 10 years after college, but now live in California. I don’t root for any teams from any of those three states, though Texas QB Quinn Ewers I have the same barber back in Austin. Hope that clears everything up!
