The children in room 105 are relishing in learning fairy tales and folktales from around the world. After listening to “Hu Gu Po” the children worked cooperatively to identify and illustrate story elements and their favorite part. @BarnumWoods
A4: Ronan was very hurt by what happened. He wasn’t able to process or deal with those feelings so he was untruthful with Delsie and Esme. Ronan hoped that the news would leave them speechless. Sometimes bending the truth protects our emotions. #NCESPAReads
A:2 I think that Delsie’s fascination with weather patterns helps us to infer that she is a deep thinker. She has an awareness of what is around her. That intuition is helping her understand the storms in her own life. #NCESPAReads
In honor of Black History Month the children learned about Ruby Brides, Jesse Owens, Simone Biles and Barack Obama. They worked cooperatively on activities that focused on gaining knowledge about these important people and how they shaped our history. @BarnumWoods
The scientists in room 105 worked in small groups to discover if they can hear, see, and feel sounds. They concluded that sound causes vibration and vibration causes sound.
The first grade children had a blast celebrating the 100th day of school! They wore shirts with a collection of 100 items, and engaged in hands-on activities that reinforced their knowledge of numbers.
World Read Aloud Day! We teamed up with Mrs. Kirichencho’s 4th grade class and listened to some of their favorite picture books. Then, the children celebrated the joy of reading aloud with their peers.

Ss worked in teams to solve math problems using life-sized counting tape. Teams jumped along the tape to discover the answer, then recorded their thinking. What a fun way to problem solve.
The scientists on Team Lasher had a “bushel” of fun learning about apples. While making predictions, they honed their investigative and problem solving skills. Making an apple volcano was the highlight of the day.
The 1st grade Ss at @BarnumWoods participated in an incredible program this week. The LI Center for Arts and Sciences presented a solar systems workshop. The children learned about the planets, their position in the solar system, and their properties. Many thanks to the PTA.
The children in room 105 experienced an out of this world adventure. We visited the Cradle of Aviation Museum and learned about the night sky, space exploration, and unique aircraft. We can’t wait to write about our learning.
I’ve accepted a challenge from @Kirichenko_263 post 7 covers of books I love: no explanations, no reviews-just the covers. Each time I post a cover, I’ll ask someone else to take up the challenge. One cover a day for a week. My day 4 challenge goes to @Kirichenko_263
