Ayer, después de salir de un partido increíble donde Inglaterra y México dieron de los mejores partidos del mundial, nos encontramos con aficionados ingleses 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 en la calle. Nos abrazamos, nos reímos y celebramos el fútbol, aunque el triunfo fuera de ellos. Porque de eso se trata este deporte: de unir a personas que nacieron a miles de kilómetros, de regalarnos historias, amistades y recuerdos que duran mucho más que un marcador. Gracias, México, por estas semanas de respiro. Por las risas, los bailes, la ilusión, los nervios, la esperanza y por los nuevos amigos que nos dejó este Mundial. Perder duele. Claro que duele. Pero qué privilegio haber sentido tanto. Al final, los partidos terminan. Lo que permanece son los momentos que vivimos gracias al fútbol. ❤️🇲🇽⚽

Then something happened I still cannot talk about without crying.A regular customer noticed he was gone from his usual shift. She asked. Then she asked again. Then she started a petition at the customer service desk without telling anyone. Within two weeks it had over nine hundred signatures. People wrote notes in the margins. He remembers my kids names. He carried my groceries when I broke my arm. He is the reason I shop here. A man in his eighties wrote that my brother was the only person who talked to him some weeks. The petition landed on the regionaldirector’s desk. The manager was reassigned. My brother got his hours back plus a raise and a vest that says customer experience specialist. He wears it like a uniform of honor. The woman who started the petition still shops there every Tuesday. My brother saves her a cart with the good wheels. She told me once that kindness is just paying attention out loud. I think about that constantly. He was never too slow. The world was just moving too fast to see him.

I can’t even put into words how lucky I am to have seen both those matches at the Azteca. Curses broken and hearts shattered in the same week. The Azteca is truly the holy land of this beautiful game and I’m just glad to have experienced it.

I've been lucky enough to play football, even partake in great games, commentate on big global finals and support England since my first England v Scotland schoolboy international in the early 80's. I have never experienced intensity, partisan support and emotional stress than tonight at the Azteca. A truly momentous occasion.

Enfoquémonos en que TODOS mejoremos, nosotros como afición también , la Federación de futbol Mexicano que trabaje mejor para lograr un nivel más alto de futbol dando más recursos, porque los jugadores de la selección ya tienen el talento y la garra y espíritu e hicieron excelente trabajo con lo que les dieron para trabajar!
