Late Stage Imperium
@LateImperium
They had been born into this dark millennium, and had known nothing but the hardship, suffering and despair of unending conflict. Yet still they struggled on.

This cast though...Suzie Yeung as Kusanagi is interesting but she'll slay. ProZD and Bill Butts as Aramaki and Batou are perfect. They cast Leon Kennedy himself as Togusa 🔥🔥. S/o to Tony Weaver Jr getting another role under his belt. I can't wait for this dub!

It might be hot outside but the rent is freezing.

It's undeniable at this point that a creative person with AI is better than the handcrafted work of an uncreative person. Imagine how many man-hours went into making the Campaign Evolved ring look like dogshit just for this guy to come along and have AI do it better.

No importa, seguiré siendo zurda hasta el día en que muera

Wokeness certainly made video games worse in narrative terms, but that's a much more recent phenomenon than the larger trend of games simply getting worse in general, which began in earnest during the 7th console generation. For first time, broadly speaking, we were seeing games being dumbed down compared to their predecessors, both in mechanical terms + with Hollywood-style art direction & writing optimized for mass appeal, and that has only accelerated since then. This was already happening before the mid-2010s mainstreaming of wokeness. Now, everyone is hyperaware of Woke Themes in art & media, especially in video games, but comparatively fewer people are talking about games simply being dumber, designed by and for dumber people, according to dumber standards. Games without a hint of wokeness in them still have these problems. The average "anti-woke" gamer would happily accept these lower standards as long as nothing they'd recognize as woke is present, that's how low the bar is. But to return to the original point, I don't know how we explain something like making the Halo ring a hideous greebled mess by citing wokeness. Those cracks were already forming 20 years ago, and it is in part due to developers feeling greater freedom to overdesign and overcook visual elements with bigger budgets and more advanced tech. The same thing happened to movies, music, anime, etc. When your creative process is on such strong autopilot and has so few meaningful stumbling blocks, you can run yourself off a cliff churning out stuff that looks superficially "good" but isn't well-crafted at all.

We’re now getting first person shoot outs due to smart glasses… WTF

Stanford grads walk out as Google CEO Sundar Pichai takes the stage as commencement speaker. No mention of AI, unlike other uni speakers getting booed down this year. Story for @sfgate shortly

What is the best voice acting performance in all of gaming?

The reason Japan fans clean the stadium after each game. Respect. 🤝🇯🇵

He’s doing the meme irl
