HAPPENGING NOW: Deputy IGG, @AnneTwino is meeting stakeholders of Kira Municipal Council, Wakiso district, with an aim of resolving an ongoing impasse over the construction of Kireka main market. Her intervention follows a petition by some market vendors who asked @IGGUganda to halt the planned construction works of the facility, citing among others land ownership wrangles and influence peddling by some Kira Municipal leaders. @IGGUganda timely intervention affirms its commitment to promote transparency and accountability in implementation of the government projects.

DEPUTY IGG TO YOUTH: NOT ALL GOVERNMENT WORKERS ARE CORRUPT On March 16, 2026, Deputy Inspector General of Government (DIGG) @AnneTwino addressed students at Nabisunsa Girls School, challenging the widespread belief that every government employee is corrupt. “That mind-set must change, it is simply not true,” she told the attentive audience. “There are many patriotic and morally upright public servants working with dedication. Unfortunately, some unethical individuals have tarnished their reputation.” The DIGG was responding to students who accused all public officers of being corrupt. She encouraged the young people to see beyond this misconception and recognize that integrity still exists within public service. @AnneTwino was at the school to launch an Integrity Ambassadors Club (IAC), as part of the Inspectorate of Government’s strategy to empower young people in the fight against corruption. “We want you to join us in eliminating corruption,” she said. “Being part of the integrity club will equip you to be an anti-corruption ambassador.” Peace Namulondo, a Form Three student, delivered a powerful poem challenging leaders to uphold integrity. “Our leaders say integrity is their best policy, but behind the lies, it’s just an embarrassment,” she recited. “We need leaders who lead with nobility.” The head teacher, Hajjat Janat Namujuzi Kakumba welcomed the initiative, pledging full support for club activities aimed at nurturing responsible citizens. Citing Galatians 6:7, @AnneTwino reminded students: “Live a corrupt-free life. When you live a life of integrity, God’s blessings will follow you wherever you go.” The visit left a lasting impression—planting seeds of integrity that will inspire future generations to resist corruption and demand accountability.
