@SueOC_NBCBoston This is what communism looks like.
Oh yeah we know you voted for this based on the law but um yeah we have the right to tell you what you voted for isn't what we want up here.
Journalists keep telling you how bad Massachusetts is on government transparency.
And we will keep telling you because that's our job.
But voters have to act.
Yes, I know you voted for an audit that still hasn't happened. But do you give up? That's how reform works: it's slow, it's frustrating, it takes years of sustained pressure.
And that's how the staus quo stays the status quo.
But dedication pays off.
It took almost 50 years to repeal Roe V Wade.
25 years to get same sex marriage rights.
Legal cannabis has been moving for 30 years and still isn't federal law.
Journalists can only expose it. We can't force it. Only you can.
Massachusetts just "won" the SPJ's 2026 Black Hole Award for some of the worst public records laws in the country.
So what can you actually DO about Massachusetts' awful transparency laws? Here's where to start:
-Call your state rep & senator. Not email. Call. Say: "I want to know where you stand on public records reform: shorter deadlines, real penalties for stonewalling, and completing the audit voters already approved." THEN email them this link and ask them if they're proud to win such a prestigious award!
-Show up. Constituent meetings, town halls, State House hearings on transparency legislation. Show up in numbers. Not just as individuals.
-File a public records request yourself. Yes, you can do that. When agencies get buried in volume, it creates pressure. Document and publicize when you get denied or stonewalled.
-Join orgs already fighting this — ACLU of Massachusetts, MuckRock, New England First Amendment Coalition. Coalition-build with neighbors, civic groups, PTAs. Transparency affects everyone. You don't have to agree with everything these organizations are working on...
-Make it a voting issue. Ask every candidate directly what they will do to increase transparency.
-Amplify journalists reporting on this. Share it. Tag your electeds. Make them uncomfortable. Share the news of this award with your state lawmakers, and ask them what reforms they support.

I just signed an Executive Order to bring enough energy into Massachusetts to power 2 million homes — and save families and businesses $10 million.
So how does our all-of-the-above energy strategy actually lower your bills?
Let’s break it down in terms everyone understands: munchkins.

I truly believe at 6’4 190-195lb and with her athleticism. That Aja Wilson could play shooting guard in the NBA .. I am not saying that she is going to Dominate but a cool 12-15pts with 3-4ast.
Chet Holmgren reportedly believes that he and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander could cook Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal in a two-on-two matchup, even in a seven-game series against their championship versions.
Holmgren expressed confidence in their modern playstyle, saying their spacing, versatility, and skill set would allow them to compete against one of the most dominant duos in NBA history.

What would you change…?
Jeff Bezos has $222 billion.
If he paid my wealth tax this year, we could fund insulin in America for everyone who needs it plus free school lunch for every kid in Texas—and have plenty of money left over.
And Bezos would still have $215 billion dollars to spare.
