@RogersHistory YP display undesirable behaviours when they are struggling. If schools were funded adequately, fewer YP would need to face the struggles they currently do.

The 'atmosphere' for teachers is obv going to change under Labour when it comes to student behaviour. I think there will be much more pressure to keep students in classrooms/schools regardless of the behaviour they exhibit. The needs of each individual student will become thee most prominent thing. 'Inclusive practice' will translate into responsibility/accountability for students behaviour being shifted onto teachers/schools even more than it already is. Too many rules? not inclusive. Teachers using sanctions? not inclusive. Students disengaged? Teachers boring. Activism will increase, parent power will expand. What all this means for the ordinary classroom teacher operating in mainstream schools without strong leaders to push back? I worry. theguardian.com/education/arti…

Including this unbelievable one: School argued very well they could not deliver EHCP provisions so were incompatible under s.39(4). Leeds response: “We need a meeting 2 review & remove section F provisions causing the incompatibility so that you are able to admit the child”

SENDCos and Heads - FGS - PLEASE stop focusing on meeting “needs”, that truly nebulous term, and focus on whether you can deliver the provisions specified in section F of a Plan. You need to do this if a case goes down route of threatening legal - because THAT works.
