Civil Defense director Raed al-Saleh announced this morning that five specialized teams have been working for hours “searching for possible hidden underground cells in #SednayaPrison, despite conflicting information.” The opposition factions reached the prison in the #Damascus countryside on Sunday and freed hundreds of detainees, while families of other prisoners reported that their relatives are still being held in unknown sections of the complex. Al-Saleh said that two guides familiar with the prison’s layout are accompanying the Civil Defense teams, who have opened several areas inside the prison, including the kitchen and the oven, but have not found anything so far. However, he noted, “we must be prepared for the worst.” Yesterday, videos and images from #Sednaya documented the discovery of execution and torture tools and the release of children who were held inside the prison known as the “Human Slaughterhouse,” the “Salt Prison,” and the “Red Prison.” Amnesty International estimated the number of victims of murder and torture there at more than 13,000 people.

Forensic Architecture put out a 827-page report analysing Israeli military actions, demonstrating in practice the genocide, and it's been largely ignored. Findings include: "Between 7 Oct 2023 and 30 June 2024 approximately 83% of all plant life in Gaza was destroyed."
