What a success! Last night’s primary spring concert was nothing short of incredible 😀 A BIG shout out goes to our music specialist, Danny Granzow for orchestrating 9 classrooms of grades 1-3 putting on a performance that they’ll never forget ❤️

Rms 203 and 214 had an amazing field trip to @MTYPatTheForks this morning to see @HonoluluTheatre performance of "The Pa'akai" We Bring". What an outstanding play for youth. The kids (and adults) were enthralled with their ancient stories and their live music.

There will be no school on Monday May 6th. We will see everyone on Tuesday!

Room 105 had a visit from the @whsanimals Education Program: Be a Tree. They learned how to read dogs' body language and they used their new detective skills and tools to learn how to be safe around dogs.

We want to share a heartfelt congratulations to our head custodian, Gerhard, on his retirement. He has spent the last 5 years of his career here at Laura Secord and our staff and students will miss him dearly. We look forward to hearing about all of your upcoming travels!

A big thank you to @aitccanada for visiting our two Gr 3 French Immersion classrooms today! Lynne White led us through the importance of Canadian agriculture, farming and watershed. It was interactive, engaging and fun!

Not only did Ss learn about the eclipse in their classrooms, there was also some eclipse art to celebrate the phenomenon.

Puzzle club was a huge success! Grade 1s and 2s were invited to participate in a lunchtime club in February and the turn out was amazing! Almost 100 children filled the hallway to work together and complete puzzles from 24 all the way to 500 pieces.

The Dungeons and Dragons club is a group of grade 5 and 6 students that have spent the last few months creating characters, building worlds and bringing their stories to life!

Today 8 of our primary classrooms visited @mtypattheforks to see the production of Tetris! It’s safe to say the highlight was the little (big) dance party at the end!

« La salle 319 de Mme Mona-Élise a choisi d’avoir une matinée de défis STIM (STEM challenges) pour avoir parlé français en classe! Les élèves ont travaillé en équipe pour construire une pyramides de verres, un pont le plus solide et une catapulte.

Our Gr 4-6 Ss still love having the chance to attend Chess Club on Mondays at noon !

Hier, les amis de lecture des salles 309 et 214, ainsi que 319 et 203 ont assisté au 28e Festival international du film Freeze Frame. Ils ont visionné la version française du film "Titina", une histoire passionnante basée sur la conquête du pôle nord en dirigeable en 1926.
