People keep saying that Britain has a “noble tradition” of taking in refugees, citing the kindertransport as proof. Simon Heffer did it again on Radio 4 this morning. But here’s the problem.

What #inktober does for me is do away with procrastination. There isn’t time to dilly dally. There’s time to find the prompt word for the day, look around the flat for something relevant to draw, and then draw it. That’s it.

Until recently, I felt I was carrying a sackful of rubble on my back. I began to believe I would never fully recover. But finally the effects of the cancer, the infections, the wounds, anaesthetics and antibiotics have flushed through and I'm back to my old self. Watch out world!
