By summer 2022, a brand hired me to represent them on TikTok. I fell in love with creating and editing videos so much that just 2 months later, I went all-in as a UGC creator. Fast forward 3 months, I rented my first office. 2 months later, I hit five-figure months. Today, I coach creators to do the same. Your UGC videos shouldn’t scream, “Buy this now!” They should say “This product? It’s actually super helpful, let me show you why.” You want to spark that feeling of, “Oh, I should check this out.” The best content teases just enough to make people curious.

People don’t care about the product itself. They care about what it does for them. If you’re talking about a moisturiser, don’t just list the ingredients. Show how it fits into your nightly routine, how it makes your skin feel amazing, or how it gives you that little confidence boost. Sell the feeling, not the product.

Let’s be honest, your first UGC videos are going to feel cringy. Mine definitely were. But no one gets it perfect the first time. The creators you look up to? They all started messy too. Just put your work out there. You’ll get better every time.

I burnt out from UGC in early 2023. I was chasing the money and took on too many jobs. My videos dipped in quality, I started losing retainers, and everything became too much to handle. Chasing quantity over quality will cost you everything. Focus on fewer, better clients, and protect your energy.
